abhi90
I see a lot of threads abt dream cars and bikes.. these automobiles keep getting better n better as time goes by.. Any thought on what heppens to these old automobiles when they turn junk..I u'stand they r a source of raw materials which can be recycled...in turn saving on power, coal, and global warming... any thoughts in this regard?? Well from what my limited knowledge of related matters go, the energy required to recycle the junk parts are more than what they would save, hence recycling is rendered useless :|
Solitaire
Actually don't cars end up as junk only after a long long time since stuff always keeps changing owners? These Americans here are very attached to their cars. They'll drive them to death and then restore them, call them classics and drive them again
Babyzelda
Lets get back to Cars please? This Global Warming etc. has already ruined some of the greatest cars and made them too soft, while it maybe an important subject all I am happy about is this finally goes in Production from 2016, lets hope it's as wild as lamborghini can make it, Urus

Babyzelda
The new Range Rover Sport is out, with Land Rover designers calling it the 911 of SUV's lets see if it is as good as the Cayenne GTS / Turbo on the road in terms of performance, Which I truly doubt but still a neat looking Mid Size SUV. India Launch was to be very aggressive but thanks to Mr. Chidambaram this will be no where as close to what was being planned by TATA last year in terms of price points of their products, the base car itself will cost more than 1,10,00,000.00 (1.10) http://www.worldcarfans.com/113032755744/2014-range-rover-sport-officially-revealed-videos https://newrangeroversport.landrover.com/gb/en Have a great Holi! Babyzelda
TAZ, The duty was raised by 25% which is about 36-38% effective duty to end users, and add to the misery if you live in a state like mine where we pay double RTO tax for cbu cars its a lot of added cost. Depending on car makers they decide how much to absorb or how much to pass on, but Mercedes and Porsche are passing in the entire burden to the consumers, BMW is absorbing a lot as always but that has a deep impact on their profit margins but yeah is good for us. Anyways gotta live with the laws so yeah let's get raided,

TAZ
IMO they should have done this last year. Without diesel honda has no chance of surviving in india.

The Wolfy among us
Ya and it was hardly selling, I really liked the last gen civic it oozed class. The current one was just ok. Talking strictly about looks dept. I think a design overhaul of the civiv would've helped it sell more. They kept the current design for way too long. Babyzelda
Honda has to stop using 'Diesel' as it's disadvantage for anything that does not sell well, I mean CIty is only 'Petrol' and does pretty good numbers annually, for that they rejoice, but rest has other issues besides not having a 'Diesel' option. Jazz was overpriced at the start, all dealers mocked Hyundai at that time saying they will sell 10X i20's sales and look where things went, Hyundai has come a long way in the Auto sector. Later when the Brio comes out, they end up reducing prices of the Jazz, where most of it was due to Kit clearing and still making consumers think it was demand. Jazz needed an AT from the start, it needed the 1.5 engine from the City while the base could have had the 1.2, Launch models did not have enough features and by the time it was launched the entire 'HONDA' brand trump card was not good enough and as much as they mocked Hyundai, Hyundai is doing what the market needs, in a damn 16 lac rupee Elantra they offer Ventilated Seats, it's a wonderful thing to have in our heat, as average as the car maybe to drive, not that any other car in it's segment is a track beater. But from what I know, next Gen Jazz / Fit will come to India.
