The Wolfy among us
I keep hearing that the diesel engine is costlier to maintain. Can somebody please elaborate ? sent using Tapatalk I don't know why, but the parts are costlier. The engine is rougher, so you need more frequent change in engine oil. also, It's heavier. In worst case scenarios, you also need to maintain the clutch, the tires, and the suspension.
avkash
The petrol and diesel variants use same suspension. sent using Tapatalk
The Wolfy among us
The petrol and diesel variants use same suspension. sent using Tapatalk Exactly my point. In worst case scenarios, the suspension will take more of a hit since the diesel engine is heavier.
godspeed4476
The petrol and diesel variants use same suspension. sent using Tapatalk No, not all the cars use the same suspension. There are actually many different variations for diesel and petrol parts, even though on the surface they look interchangeable. The SX4 diesel has different front suspension to compensate for the heavier load. Also, the minor stuff like Bearings, etc are made to different specification for diesel engines (atleast for SX4)
supersim
Almost all diesel engines come with turbocharger which is you can say an additional part which you will rarely find in petrol engines . at least in India. It is a expensive part as well. Also compression ratio is Much higher in diesel engines than petrol ones ,basically means the combustion chamber has to bear more pressure so suitable materials have to be used which again raise the cost. As for suspension it is generally same for petrol or diesel variant . Only stuff like engine mounts, etc changes. Due to the relatively heavier diesel engine . AtheK
Bought a diesel At cruze, but since its giving me mileage of less than 9, i have shifted back to the old civic My daily running is less than 10Kms a day (on average), I should have bought an auto-rickshaw and saved monies Ya and you could have picked up few commuters too and nominally charge them too, Free fuel for Life FTW

Babyzelda
Got a private preview of the W222 S- class at Stuttgart today, trust me drive this car it puts to shame any luxury car out there, Audi a8 and BMW 7 are like a class below in terms of comfort or even drive or quality or whatever it is that one seeks in a luxury car. It makes wonder why could BMW not do more for the Ghost rather than just making it a glorified 7 Series. Also walked down the museum as always a great place to be for anyone who is crazy about the brand here's a nice shot of of the new CLA being delivered and those cars are soon coming to India too a wonderful product really and a lot better than any other FWD sedans in the market. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wlbf8e4idtf10p9/Photo%20Apr%2012%2C%2014%2053%2028.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/ltuufmusvaq6gbq/Photo%20Apr%2012%2C%2016%2027%2036.jpg

_Hellsboy_
Anyways on-topic. Anyone know what is the major difference between the Amaze petrol models? I checked Carwale.com and it showed that all 3 models except VX are the same . And VX has ABS,Air Bags and alloys. It is 2 lacs more than the base model. If this is the case is it possible to get a car and install the ABS and Air Bag separately? Anyone who has done this can you let me know how much this costs ( Averagely for any car) . Does the company itself fit it if we want?
