Looks like the car belonged to a construction businessman in Delhi; who was out on a trip...His cousin took it out for a ride with friends and landed at the hotel...Rest is history :P

Probably the cousin himself will have big moolah too, guess how much of 2 cr, insurance company will pay

The insurance on the car will cover a major bit of the expenses. Remaining amount will be claimed by Le Meridien against insurance they would undoubtedly have on their hotel premises (and any incidents that happen there).

 

All in all, nobody will really lose much money. But I really pity the driver.

I am pretty sure that I saw this clause in my insurance. So looked it up on some random insurance. I chose Aviva, and I am sure this is present on all major car insurance terms and conditions.

The valet, was not the owner, or a "Permitted driver". Insurance will wash their hands off.
