It is a 9km long elevated expressway. There's no halts, no bumps, so 100 is about normal.

Okay. phir toh thik hai....

If u didnt crash, wheel alignment se ho jaana chahiye. Luck tere saath tha.

Soch!!! ek sec baad side mai dekhta aur phir wapas road pe, to? U had a divine intervention.

So I was driving on the Electronic City expressway when I saw two cars suddenly stopped in my lane. I was driving at near 100, so I braked hard and was certain of a crash but somehow my car stopped in time as did the one behind me.

Lucky escape aside, I now feel that the steering is misaligned. If I keep the steering straight, car goes towards right. It is a very small change in alignment, but I'm sure it wasn't there before.

Anyone with experience or knowledge in this matter? I will show it to the service center on Monday, but would be good to have some know-how so I'm sure of the possible issue (if any) and the right fix for that.

Just a question of alignment. Or maybe one of the balancing weights got knocked off.

I know, man. I was prepared for impact (front and rear).

I am really thankful to the one above for getting me out safely.

Hope you're right. Thankfully the service center is less than a km away from my place.

Any reason why?

Am too lazy to find some other place, and the convenience of Maruti one being on the way to work :|

I feel it has something to do with the wheel/brakes as they went most stress during the braking.

As for the incident : it was right next to the bylane, there was a group of bikes and one bike had fallen down. I looked to my left for a split second and when my eyes returned to the road, there were two cards stopped bang in front. I think car1 stopped, and car2 while trying to brake actually hit the guard rail on the right side. I was luckily able to brake in time.

Reminded me to never ever look anywhere but straight ahead when on such high speed.

Very unlikely that the brakes would get slightly jammed in 100 to 0 de accel. 100 is not a high speed. As some 1 mentioned, very high chances of existing weights being knocked off from the rims, get the balancing and alignment done. Also, always do it from outside, u can easily save 300-400 bucks minimum.

Braking never works in such situations especially on the Swift. I prefer to swerve (although it has its risks too.)

100 is still quite fast if you consider the impact damage. If a car has a head on collision with a stationary object at 100 there will be a lot of damage to the structure and the driver will be lucky to survive (with seatbelts).

In emergency braking 100 is relatively high speed and combine it with the driver panic it can be really dangerous.

@Piper - Did you find out the cause for that?

I've not been able to go to any wheel alignment centre for this yet.
