mafia97
Engine run in period, like for first 800 kms it should be revved more than 4k and next 400 km it should not be revved more than 6k. This was the run in on 250r.

devil_angel
I follow the philosophy of run-ins. It's really worked wonders for me. I can feel the difference when I drive the same car owned by others (not the same age though). But run-in doesn't have any rules IMO, it varies from vehicle to vehicle; one has to get a feel for it. godspeed4476
for both our cars city and cruze dealers specifically said no need for any run in, hell we drove Cruze at 200 kmph when it was just 4 days old. Yeh run in sab purani baatien hai sirji Yep, even my cruze dealer said the same. In fact my dealer said that dont try to drive the car at stable speed till 1st servicing, try to keep large amount of variations. The days of imperfection are in engine are gone, with good oil and better technology things are safe. Something bad might happen eventually, but the same can be said about the car which has been run in.

This was the run in on 250r. Oh! Break-in. Thats the word mentioned in manual. First 800. Not more than 4000rpm Next 800. Not more than 6000rpm First service at 1000. Â Following it. Got alpinestars bionic back protector yesterday. Felt tremendous confidence boost in sunday morn run. It'll get better as i add boots, gloves, jacket n pants. Boots are past customs. Should get them mid week.

Run in has got nothing to do with it, I feel difference in almost every other cruze i drive, the way you maintain your car, the way you drive it , these are the key factors which will determine how your car will function and feel in long run. Run in periods are just to save the engine from minor imperfections in the engine bores.
