Sach4life
So got all approvals from high command and now the hunt begins to get a new bike in next 3-4 months, budget 3-4 Lacs. First set of shortlist, in no particular order Pulsar SS 200(Hoping for a diwali SS 400 launch, that will become a top contender) Honda CBR 250 Benelli TNT 300 Yamaha R3 RC 390 Ninja 300 GT 250R If i decide to go Second Hand GT 650R (Very very tempted) Ninja 650R Any other suggestions that should be test driven. Going to be good next few months, hopefully will seal it by Diwali Just don't get a pulsar. I bought pulsar 220 5 years back and it is easily the most trouble giving vehicle i have ever owned. Such an unreliable bike. Started giving me problems just after a year..

Apache on the other hand has been superb!! Point taken.
GiGz
Duke 390 for under 200k is a no brainer imo.Get a custom silencer and other stuff if you hav the budget. They also added a slipper clutch in the 2015 model. I see you are considering RC390.What do you think this bike doesnt have that you need? Its a pretty sweet deal for just over 200k Edited August 10, 2015 by GiGz

They also added a slipper clutch in the 2015 model. Price wise it is a no Brainer, but as a package it still is far behind from. Other rivals. It looks puny for a sports bike, and material used for construction is questionable. On top of it a single cylinder engine, compared to twins from likes of Yamaha and others. Definite contender though.
Pushy
tsk tsk, avoid Hyosung's :| also, if u can stretch it a bit, then get Benelli TNT 600i and this exhaust: well well and if this doesn't wins it, then i don't know what will: ofcourse the Daytona 675R, but that's overpriced for 600cc :| skip to 1.18 for some eargasm B-)

Pushy
lel, unlike some particular member here who has habit of talking out of the a*s, i have actually owned a Hyosung and therefore i can tell u that in no ways i am complaining about the bike, oh my goodness oh my wow, bikes are just superb, the GT250, 250R, 650N 650R, they have just so much of torque, such vTwin roar coupled with an aftermarket exhaust, it's a head turner and makes it's presence felt on the road, BUTTTTTT...the maintenance, the overpriced parts, the waiting periods...ohh the horror..and even if u manage to get them, there's hardly who can tune them Twins properly....and it's just not me, almost all the owners here have faced this...so unless u know some mech who knows a to z of vTwins and Hyosung specifically, i would suggest avoid Hyosung all together...
AtheK
Thanks now this makes sense, rather then asking me to increase budget and go for more expensive stuff. Points taken, but I am so inclined too a hyosung they are so awesome, but you got many valid points. Let's see what yam does with R3 pricing tomorrow, prices right that bike is super awesome

blitzkreiig
Guys i had booked i20 Active petrol a month or so back S variant .....The dealer called me yesterday saying that SX model just launched in petrol (petrol had only 2 models earlier Base & S )and it'll be 90k costlier than S variant. Amongst other things(dual airbags, keyless entry etc) he told there'll be a touchscreen AVN system included. Is it worth the extra 90k? My budget was already stretched
abhi90
The version that you've already decided on, has ABS? If for 90k more you're getting ABS and airbags then I suggest you to get the costlier choice.
AtheK
If u are already stretched why stretch more, but in case u can, I think those features are worth it.

Really torn between RC390, GT250r and R3 Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk Oh cool, RC390 ain't a looker though. Like yiu said, puny. Looks pretty badass from the sides but its pretty thin for a bike. Also what do you mean material used is questionable? The finish of KTM's is one of the best out there imo. Plus parts are cheaper compared to other bikes. Maintenance is not a headache Sent from my OnePlus One

If you ask me I would pick the GT250r in a jiffy, but pushy is seeing after sales is bad. R3 would have been an automatic choice if it had ABS, and it is the most expensive also. Rc390 is a super value for money product, it's a Dilemna which is pretty awesome. Good time to be a biker in India.
