Graphically it looks the same as Bioshock 1 (which itself was a very average looking game when it came out 2 years ago). This looks like a 2006 game at best. Gameplaywise I guess its a matter of taste but I thought there was nothing there that would make me go "Oh I wanna buy that." If this wasnt GFWL I probably wouldnt even bother with it. Nemo Posted January 30, 2010 Report Share Posted January 30, 2010 Having said that I am sure if this one was a PS exclusive this thread would have been over 80 pages long by now. the same hold true if it were the other way round as well I remember how hot original bioshock's thread was back when i first registered to this site.. haven for the bots and i too had my fair share of hyping (had a 360 back then) it to the hilt- hell my first post was in the bioshock thread iirc. but it was a great game, lets see how this works out. Dude Bioshock was 1 of the best graphics of 2007 both Technically and Artistically. Except Uncharted and Crysis, I don't think any other game looked as beautiful as Bioshock in 2007. that game was an instant classic after gettin many numerous E3 awards when gamers got their hands even still they didn't forgot the story. The best story-telling I have seen in recent years. On Bioshock 2: Really Can't wait for the sequel. There r few reasons for the Lack of Hype when compared to GOW III,ME 2 and even Heavy Rain: 1. Ken Levine is not doing this project. 2. Multiplayer is simply unnecessary for this type of Game. 3. SP is shorter than prev. Bioshock. 4. Too many Good AAA Titles comin around the 1st 3 months of 2010. 5. Last but not the least, many think that sequel to a classic like Bioshock is not necessary, They r unnecessary milking Bioshock!! I mean there are reasons why this game could turn out to be mediocre but thats hardly it. Its not like the first game was full of genius game designing. The only thing special about it was the art direction, story and atmosphere. The combat was clunky, RPG elements tame, level design linear and the whole game was a series of fetch quests. So its not like there are high standards which must be maintained. And if you guys thought Bioshock 1 was anything above average when it came to graphics then you need to play it again. I played it on the PC with almost everything maxxed out and it still looked very average. The water effects were nice but thats about it. Even maxxed out on the PC it still looked inferior to half a dozen console games of that time. I mean it was easily outclassed by UC, CoD MW, AC, ME, GoW etc. The closest comparison I can find to Bioshock (graphically and technically) is FEAR. And FEAR was released in 2005.
