Read the Doomsday key by James Rollins.

A racy, fast paced book with a lot of hollywood action cliches. But it works. good read. good.gif

MY next book.

Can someone suggest good books on real estate please.

Investment wise. I want to read up on how to start investing etc.

Something specific to the Indian market would be the best. Googled a little, very little honestly, but most of the stuff seemed suitable for the US market.

Reps for good contributions mates :)

Last book of the wheel of time is out.

sh*t, I have completely forgotten most of the story and plotlines in the series. Last I checked I think I was on book 12 and that was like 5+ years ago or so.

On a slightly related note, my online tag on a lot of websites where I registered pre 2007ish is Matrim. :P/>

Decided to take a break from all the fantasy/comics that i had been reading for the past 2 years. Picked up the much acclaimed Katherine boo "Behind the beautiful flowers" . Terrible Mistake. Why does every book about mumbai has to be about the slums, poverty and police/shiv sena nexus. Must have read 5 books about mumbai till now and most of them talk about the same. Maybe barring Shantaram to a certain extent and Maximum city in parts...

Its the same thing with videos too. BBC has made a documentary recently "Welcome to India" in 3 episodes about India. They covered only the slums, poor people in Mumbai and other areas!

its simple. poverty porn. any book/documentary on india by a firangi is targated towards firangis and why would they want to read about india's progress, diversity and all the more good things when they can instead see what they want to see- poor india, hungry india and all kinds of 'lawless outback' images they have about us which gives them an air of moral and cultural superiority.

This is such an apt phrase. I think I will borrow it in future conversations.

Finished "No easy Day" by Mark Owen last week, the book about the Osama mission.

Quite gripping & fast paced. Not just about the mission. The first few chapters are about how the author got into the seal program, then qualification & training into Devgru, the seal team unit that carried out the mission. Interesting read, simple way of writing & no nonsense. & obvious dislike towards obama :)

I recommend it.

Started reading Ramchandra Guha's India after Gandhi.
