l33tmaniac
pffft.. once you read one Dan Brown book a couple of times, you have read them all. No this is not some elitist hipster BS, I am very indiscriminate when it comes to any fiction, as long as it entertains. Brown's books follow the same pattern. Bobby swims some laps, fiddles with mickey mouse watch, some big thing goes down, he is called, does some quick connecting of dots, all hell breaks lose and he becomes a wanted fugitive, takes some old friend's help and at the end it is the same old friend who turns out to be the main culprit. It is the same in non Robert Langdon stories. Have read 3.5 out of the 5 books he has pumped. Havent read Digital fortress and left lost symbol midway cause it was going nowhere except boredom-ville. His best work imo has been Angels and Demons. It is just that it ends up being more of the same with his other works. One thing i do give him credit for is his research and mentioning of technology and religious debates. The way he connects them and reaches at a far fetched conclusion is kind of Hollywood but the authenticity of the information, insofar as one takes them as "This is what important intellectuals have debated and theorised and most is still inconclusive yet not unprovable", is pretty good. Good one. I felt the same too. Read four of his initial novels. Discerned his pattern and style and not interesting anymore! theneurotoxin
Yeah, Digital Fortress was pretty good. It would have to be either that or Angels & Demons for me. His books aren't memorable but they're good, kitschy fun.
(A)Kira
Lost symbol was ok. Not really that good. Read Catcher in the Rye. Pretty good book, with a nice view on things and a lot on meaning and different interpretations you can have on it. Really like the language the author uses. But the main character is kinda whiny. (A)Kira
So in a Clash of kings i can across a hint, and it was too obvious to be true. Is Lysa Tully Jon's mom? Just answer yes or no, please dont give the correct person if this is wrong.
Elessar
No.Actually GRRM has not explicitly revealed the mother till now. But some hints and a large over arching story theory point to one person, and it's not Lysa.

(A)Kira
Just finished Clash of Kings. The first part was slow, but I kinda liked it. It gave more depth to some of the characters. Then somewhere after the middle it sped up like crazy. sh*t was happening everywhere. Well, time to move onto Storm of Swords now.
