Jeebus wept. Really?

I could barely go through them the first time towards the end. Then there was no new book for years. Now I can go back to the series from book 12 onwards and finish it but I would have no clue about the story and characters and I couldnt re read if you put a gun to my head. :P

Anyway, Recently read Aquariums in Pyongyang. Very good. NK continues to be endlessly fascinating. Its like a giant social experiment.

Finished reading "The Ocean at the End of the Lane". Amazing storytelling by Gaiman. Becoming a fan..

Started with "Hulabaloo in the Guava Orchard" by Kiran Desai. Wanted to sample her writing before going on to The Inheritance of Loss... Also want to start a good fantasy series. Any suggestions??

PS - Done with A Song of Ice and Fire, The Kingkiller Chronicles, LoTR and related books, The First Law Trilogy :) pls suggest something other than these :)

Naah! Its Andrzej Sapkowski but have fun. =D

Good books, really under-rated, glad the game made it through otherwise even these would have passed by.

Guys, any suggestions for some good books with a dystopian setting ?

Never Let Me Go.Based in a near-future dystopian Britain.

It's heartbreaking, especially when things come together in the end. It doesn't have the sci-fi razmatazz and action scenes etc, it's a beautiful story tbh and very sad too. I loved this book through and through. It is 'slow' but worth it.

BTW, anyone in IVG ever finish reading the entire Lord of The Rings series? I took a break after Two Towers lol :P Became a pain to read sometimes :(

thanks for the suggestions , but I'm looking for something which is a little more thought provoking / social commentary woven into the narration , something like Orwell'ls 1984....

IQ84

yes it is eerily similar apropos to the title to 1984.

no it is not a homage to Orwell.

yes it is awesome.

ok, i may be biased as i am a huge murakami fan.

but still you have to read it.
