Bulovski
ASOIF books are very detailed & very long.. Also the content is very dense imo.. No wonder it takes GRRM so long to finish 1 book.. These books are gigantic! Try The Wheel of Time books if you are looking for gigantic
Aftrunner
Read The Martian. Its really fantastic. Its an easy read so you can burn through it in a couple of days. And you probably will, its really difficult to put it down. Kinda glad I picked this for the next read. Been reading a lot of "heavy" WW1 stuff so this was a nice fun, light change of pace. Definitely recommended.

ALPHA17
Also, anyone into military novels or military history books? Need some Great recommendations What do you want to know? Pick up Antony Beevor for books on the Second World War. C.J. Chivers for a book called The Gun if you want to understand the evolution of modern warfare. You'll have to be far more specific about what you want to read up about. sent from miG

KyoyaHibari
Started reading lies of Locke lamora. At first glance the premise and setting looked a bit generic but soon it shaped up into something unique with interesting and believable characters, as well as witty story telling. Felt like this can be made into an amazing movie, kind of like pirates of caribbean.
KyoyaHibari
Also thinking of reading witcher series. Is it necessary to read sword of truth and last wish?? They look like side story novellas with around 300 pages or so.
ALPHA17
^ You will understand the game setting a lot better and actually see where the design choices come in. Both the books you have short-listed are pretty much what you said they are, a collection of short side-stories.

Is it better to read in order or just finish saga first and go for short stories later?

KyoyaHibari
Seen the order in wiki. Same as the one mentioned in forums. Will start after completing lies of lamora.

Bulovski
^^ Excellent book. Ian Fleming wrote some good stuff. Roger Moore made Bond pathetic.
