Ne0
NO. The white tiger is a good book, an excellent book. Period. But you have got to have a taste for such novels. It depicts the alternate, not so lucky, underdeveloped India in one of the most satirical way possible. The struggles of the narrator are the everyday struggles of millions in this country whom the 'progressive India' seems to have forgotten. But then again, you need to be open minded to read such books. I loved the book. If you read it as a fiction , you might not enjoy it as much. But, if you see it as a documentary on the struggling-rural india, its a classic.

Bulovski
*cough* how do you manage time to read so much *cough* work from home, work rarely, every gadget has an ebook reader, bunch of audio books for drives - answers the question? Actually thats not the intention of the book at all. Like I said before, its more of a documentary on the struggling life in poverty stricken rural India rather than 'entrepreneurship for dummies'. I for one felt the ending was neat - the achievement of the narrator is more on stopping himself from thinking like a servant and rise above that mental barrier. Once you are there its not too difficult to get what you want. And I felt the hurried rise to the entrepreneur exactly depicts that.

Bird Bird Bird
guys, any of u on shelfari.. or can u recommend any other bookworm socialising website..??
Bulovski
@DS - stanza is the best free ebook reader for the iphone. i use it a lot and love the smooth flow. it gives you access to a bunch of free sites and you can dl books from them. the only drawback is that stanza does not let you trf books from a windows pc to the iphone. it works on the mac. the best ebook reader for mobile devices other than iphone is mobipocket - absolutely great in it's simplicity. the good part is that it can import nearly any format of ebook (even pdfs) and convert it to mobile format (with pics). Bulovski
it's easy - i can keep on switching between all versions - so paperback for bed, e books for work, audio for drives - see how it works...

Aftrunner
I cant read on a screen. Couldnt do it on the PC, cant do it on the Ipod touch (and yes Stanza is quite good but its limited to classics). I prefer to curl up in bed or on a sofa with a paperback. Bird Bird Bird
try sony e-book/kindle e-book readers. new e-ink technology. really cool with long battery life. unfortunately not available in India yet dude they can never mimic the feel of a book.. the smell of new pages + wonderful covers + special editions + the wonderful feeling of lying around turning pages at ur own leisure with no worries of batteries spoiling the show.. ahh..that's heaven.. + with each book u relate yourself.. each book has an individual feel to it.. But with the ebook readers, all are same..black & white pixels... Would prefer a printed book any day.. & that too original.. no piracy of books..
