shaiTaaNi billi
dude they can never mimic the feel of a book.. the smell of new pages + wonderful covers + special editions + the wonderful feeling of lying around turning pages at ur own leisure with no worries of batteries spoiling the show.. ahh..that's heaven.. + with each book u relate yourself.. each book has an individual feel to it.. But with the ebook readers, all are same..black & white pixels... Would prefer a printed book any day.. & that too original.. no piracy of books.. i was gonna say the same

I didnot know that the market for a device like kindle is so huge..Though I'm sure most people still like their good ol conventional books. Books can never be replaced
Bulovski
even i prefer paper books - the feel / the smell - excellent! however i use ebooks when i want to preserve the originals - like my first copy of LOTR is falling apart. same with a bunch of other books i have. and i can read in bed on the ipod touch without switching the lights on - i do value my life you know (you married kinds will figure this out). Aftrunner
Seriously i have to keep re-reading chapters to remember who someone is That's where you are going wrong, its not meant to be read like a continuous story. Its more like a history book of middle earth with incidences rather than a storyline. And its not for everyone. Mostly fan service for Lotr nutters (present company included). IMO just chuck it and move to The hobbit which is a far more friendly experience.

Bulovski
^^ ur girlfriend is going to be very disappointed at what excites you unfinished tales and silmarillion are absolute history books and don't even try to figure - just go with the flow. as it is those elvish and numenorean names are confusing - then jrr added all the valar and melkor's cronies (all the same names). it's worse than reading greek mythology and keeping track of the gods and titans. ThirdOne
Started reading Cornelia Funke's Ink trilogy. The first few chapters of Inkheart are pretty interesting. After the trilogy it's going to be the Thief Lord Just finished InkDeath today. And it is awesome. InkSpell is a bit slow though.
