theneurotoxin
Someone name dropped The Red Wedding over here which made it less shocking; Ygritte's death took me by surprise though. I keep putting off reading AFFC thanks to all the negative feedback. :| Additionally, I havent read many stories that are set inside a video game You could try Ender's Game/Snow Crash. Elessar
I finished A Game of Thrones a while back. Now reading A Clash of Kings. The sheer number of characters (each with their own story) is mindboggling.. By the time you return to the story of one, it feels like its been ages.. And yet you want each to progress, to know what happens to them. Very impressive stuff.

ScrewyAurum
anybody reading Inheritance book 4 ? Yea finished it awhile back, wraps up almost every loose end nicely but feels a bit underwhelming overall.
Ne0
'The Passage' by Justin Cronin. Read some 3-4 chapters, and I find it a bit underwhelming so far. Its around 800 pages, if anybody read it , do let me know if its worth spending the time or not.

Madmage
Mistborn is a decent read.. @Aurum -- Yeah I think i read the first book a few years back.. I think i will do that.. Thanks. BTW just finished book 1 of Hunger games trilogy. Decent read, but way too similar to Battle Royale. Lets hope the other 2 books offers something different.
