Awesome news. This will MELT all consoles if they indeed create graphical mammoth like what crysis was back in day. And offcourse you would need an amped-up pc to push the limit.

hope they don’t downgrade the graphics for console.

It's about damn time but that's a long time. They've announced pretty soon if they are going to take another 3 to 4 years for development.

If crytek says it's only online or multiplayer game just like Anthem sometime later then majority of the fans and gamers are going to be so pissed. Fingers crossed for a good single player experience.

They won't name it crysis 4 and make it a MP only game.

Don't think it will. They learned gamers want the illusion of maxed out graphic settings but also have good optimization. They even removed can it run Cysis option from 2 and 3 remaster so it can run well (unlike the 1st game remaster) and give the impression of "game optimized".

Original Dying Light did it as well when people complained about optimization. They reduced the max draw distance to 50% via a patch to fix it. Witcher 3 with foliage setting. Many games do it so it doesn't get an unoptimized game flag.

Given how Crytek has been lately it wouldn't surprise me if they actually keep their max visuals playable on all consoles/PC for more sales over memes. They did great work on Hunt: Showdown. Visually fantastic without breaking your PC. Something similar for Crysis should be more than enough.

Anyways, 2-4 years more anyway. This is basically a "come work with us for the next big Crysis" announcement. Hopefully more like original and not like 3rd game.

Is this game being developed by Crytek China? If so Chinese developers are doing better than expected.

No. Crytek Shanghai (along with Hungary, Bulgaria, South Korea) has closed 5 years ago and sold Bulgaria studio to Sega/CA. Last year Tencent were attempting to buy Crytek for $300m+ but didn't.

This game should be mostly from German/Kiev/Istanbul studios.
