That’s right, pop stars. We still can’t tell you what we’re in San Francisco to see - on pain of death - but tomorrow at 2.00pm PST point your browsers at VG247 for an internet-snapping announcement.

What we can tell you is that you’re going to get screenshots, artwork and full details on a brand new game. That’s your lot.

As well as the announcement assets, we’ll be live-blogging what promises to be a US press conference on an unprecedented scale. The publisher in question has shipped in more than 250 American press, as well as journalists from Europe, to see… “it”.

The conference will last one hour.

So. That’s 2.00pm PST, 10.00pm BST and 11.00pm CET. If you want to know first, you know where to be.

Diablo is NOT a MMO by any wild stretch of imagination. It does excel at co-op play, trade, and even some rudimentary PvP.

And WoW is a fantastic game, honestly. If you have played it and didn't like it, that's ok - everyone has their own taste - just don't look down on something which over 10 million people go crazy over.

If you haven't played it and commenting - I suggest play it. There are some in the forums who played it and found it absolutely great.

As far as beating WoW - it's going to take a lot for any game. There are games like LOTRO, Conan, City of Heroes / Villains, and the first uber popular MMO (EQ) but they didn't come close to WoW. And as more time goes by it will be harder, because people are investing more and more time in their characters and Blizzard keeps rolling out new content to keep players hooked in. Right now the only thing that can bring about the demise of WoW is themselves - probably in a few years. Quite possible that they will shift to a SC MMO or something.
