This is an exciting moment as we're moving from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5, beginning a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. It covers not only licensing, but technical development of Unreal Engine 5, as well as potential future versions of Unreal Engine, where relevant. We'll closely collaborate with Epic Games' developers with the primary goal being to help tailor the engine for open-world experiences. At this point, no further details regarding the game — such as a development time frame or release date — are available. REDengine, the technology which powers Cyberpunk 2077, is still being used for the development of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. The writers are not around and the 1 thing i.e the image they shared gives no sign of any old characters. I'm guessing this will be more like god of was 4 after the trilogy. Problem with CP2077 was always that they became too ambitious. What they tried to do would have been difficult in Current Gen HW. It was pretty much impossible in last gen. But they had to release there for Shareholders. Also, a lot of games are announced in this way. They'll show trailers at E3 and other major events. It must be in pre production. Just like how they announced W3 & even more so CP2077. Polish government won’t let any outsider acquire & fund this studio….they’ll always have to rely on shareholders, polish government or illicit investors. Its not crashing, and doesnt have any noticeable bugs anymore, but its definitely not all that great. Its in a state that it should have been in at launch. Even after all this time, there isnt even a New game plus mode. The world feels really kind of static, AI and NPC behaviour is very basic. lots of lost potential.
