I thought we already had an Headphones / Audio thread but apparently not. Anyway we can use this thread for all things Headphones related. Right now its really spread out across different threads.

We can use this for headsets, headphones, earphones etc

So I've been thinking about buying a noise cancelling headset. I'm leaning towards Sony WH-1000XM4 right now. I wanted to ask if anyone knows if its going to go down i price given that the XM5 just released?

I'm kind of torn because its an urgent need but I don't want to have guilt later if it reduces in price lol. It's pretty expensive at Rs 25k

Do check the reviews as the ones I saw mentioned XM4 are better than XM5 in few aspects.

It goes to 22k many times. If you can wait then Diwali is obviously the best time to buy - it should go down to 19-20k easily by that time plus a few cashback offers. 15th Aug also there should be some kind of sale.

Damn cant wait so long. There are already some offers on like 2k off, 5% cashback etc.

The price is inflated right now. 25k plus 2k off + 5% cashback.

Just a few days ago it was going for 23k and similar deals, so 20k almost.

They might go under sale again soon.

I don't think their price will drop after XM5 release because this time Sony has increased prices and they are keeping XM4 in the lineup as a cheaper buy.

It comes down to 22k but I am pretty sure it will be even lesser this year since XM5 has been released. Same thing happened to XM3.

XM4 released at the same price as XM3, XM5 will be more expensive. I don't think anything more than 1-2k difference below 20k at best.

Wait for BBD sale.

Bhai, he wants to to get it soon.

And they aren't going to be that cheaper with the release of XM5s.

By this logic, let's just wait for 2023 BBD, they will be even more cheaper.

Brilliant collection bro. Honestly, nothing can beat the comfort and the soundstage of the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, they are also brilliant for gaming.

I enjoy everything but for music - these days have been using my desktop speakers mostly while im working from home. Have music playing most of the time. The combo of iFi Zen Dac + Swans (HiVi) M50WMMKIII 2.1 sounds pretty sweet for near field listening. Not using the headphones a lot these days. I grab the WF1000XM4s when im walking around on the terrace or while travelling.

For stereo only mode, i switch to the iFi Zen Dac + Swans(Hivi) M200MKIII+ combo.

Movies & Gaming - Home theater ofcourse!

I recently attended the headphone connect event in our city, like two weeks back, auditioned quite a lot of headphones, like the Hifiman Sundara but wondering how different is it from the HD650s?? Any thoughts/suggestions...

The Sundara is analytical and detailed while the HD650 is laid back and relaxed, a bit dark. Both are perfect complements of each other

  • 1 month later...

I currently use a Sony WH-1000XM4. IT is fantastic, both during flights and specially during office.

MY last pair of gaming headphones was Astro A 20, that I got back in 2011 and now have gone Kaput.

MY desktop was hooked to a Bose Wave player that my cat pushed off the shelf in a fit of anger / curiosity / something else and it shattered. So currently making do with my wife's JBL portable speaker hooked up but the sound is meh, so will probably start searching for a set of good speakers pretty soon.

TV is hooked to Denon 250 BT + DALI Oberon 7s. Planning to get a center channel in November
