The Headphones Thread

What is the correct term for noise cancelling for other person hearing. Like I want a TWS where when I speak, the other person/persons in a team call won't hear my surroundings and it cancels as much noise as possible.

Sort of like what Apple and Google Showed in their showcase.

When I search for noise cancelling, it gives recommendation for noise cancellation headphones for the person hearing not the audio noise cancellation.

Of course, if you guys have any good cheap suggestions, do let me know. Must not be too expensive.

I think that comes in the whole Noise cancellation umbrella.

Some refer to it as Noise Isolation (Apple does in their Mic settings).

Hello guys, want to purchase new wireless headphones primarily for multimedia consumption and secondarily for PC gaming. Have been using Sennheisers for Wireless and HyperX for wired audio needs so far. Budget is 20K. Please recommend. Have shortlisted a few options but doubtful of the support in India.

SteelSeries Arctis 7 Lossless 2.4GHz Bluetooth Wireless - 18K

Razer Kraken V3 Pro RGB - 19K

^Need Bluetooth, 3.5mm connectivity as well. Artics nova 7 fit the bill but unavailable in India.

Would also like your thoughts on sub 10K wireless headphones from Sennheiser and JBL.

Thank you.

Cheers.

Not exactly about headphones but I didn’t see a thread for it, so here goes

I’m looking to buy a portable speaker. My current budget is 15k but I could be compelled to raise it slightly more. Are there any good options y’all could recommend?

How portable do you want it to be ? Like it should fit inside your backpack ? UE Wonderboom series of speakers are very compact and has impressive sound for its size. You can also pair 2 of them and they can work in stereo. JBL Flip 6 is also a solid no nonsense option (will be slightly base heavy). Soundcore Motion series are also very well regarded (haven't tried this one). And if budget permits and you are looking for a slightly neutral sound then check out the B&O or Bose speakers.

I’d want it to fit in a backpack but it would also sit on my desk just as much. I’m getting this for uni so durability is also a factor (waterproofing, build quality etc)

I’ll check your reccos! Idk if I wanna get 2 UE Booms for the stereo though.

I was checking the reviews for the Bose Soundlink Flex and they said the sound was bass- forward rather than neutral though. Is it just that speaker or did you have a particular model in mind?

Was also looking into the Sonos Roam. It’s on sale for 16500 with card offers on FK. Really tempting but idk too much about it

Sonia  I guess you meant Sonos Roam, it is a very good option, I have never tried it but the general consensus is pretty good. Check out B&O Beosound A1 (2nd Gen) another very good speaker for around 17-19k depending on the offers, a friend has it and I love the sound it is very rich. It doesn't get as loud as the Sonos I am sure but for uni I don't think you need a speaker that gets very loud. I have a Bose Soundlink Revolve and I think it is pretty neutral definitely not as bass heavy as say a JBL or Sony.

If I were you I would stretch my budget a little and get the B&O, maybe go try it out at a store (Reliance Digital/Vijay Sales)

Fkn autocorrect ?

I’ll check out the B&O for sure.

Edit: I remember seeing the B&O in a comparison video for the Soundlink Flex and Roam. I liked the form factor. I’ll def check how it sounds as well.

Hmmm…after reading reviews…is momentum 4 better than Sony and Bose?

Gonna make it very simple.

XM5 and QC45 are very, very close.

It's just upto taste. XM5 has better ANC (marginally) and maybe wider soundstage (again, marginally).

But the weight difference and distribution? Bose wins every, single day.

If you were headphones for long periods, Bose would be your choice.

To my  ears, XM5 sounds artificial. There's this unnatural boost of highs, which feels like blade cutting through your skin.

Sony always goes for a slight bass boost. Bose is always the more neutral option. But Senn always have a nice balance not too flat and neither too bass forward. I have always loved Sennheiser's sound signature but they really need to up their tech game, that is where they fall behind Sony and Bose.

I'm using PXC550IIs, no issues with tech tbh. Don't need gimmicks.

Let's have an IVG audiophile meet :fear:
