Noctis
Alternate video since the one posted above has been taken down - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-F5LqnH5j50 Or if that too gets taken down go here http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/ Edited September 17, 2010 by Noctis
lithuvien
I did not notice health bars or anything, so I doubt if that was real time combat
Noctis
Can't make out the IQ due to the poor quality video but yes if the combat system is a more refined version of KH I (not KH II, since it was dumbed down) I will be happy Combat in the final game may not have anything to do with whats shown now. Nomura is basically just showing us this is real. I did not notice health bars or anything, so I doubt if that was real time combat There was no HUD at all, and there would have one even if it was turn based. So it was probably removed on purpose as it should be under work, and is no indication of whether its a real time combat or not. Noctis
Not to mention he also made Dissidia, which had a superb and innovative real time combat system.
MarketTantrik
Screw this I want a traditional FF game.

Noctis
Screw this I want a traditional FF game. Then youll have to wait for FF15. Real time combat is the best way to go for the KH team.
MarketTantrik
Eh? But it is well known fact that VXIII is gonna be an action RPG! Yeah, but after the annoying battle system that was dished out in FF XIII, I want a return to a "propah" TB system. *glances at his LO discs*
playstationdude
KH1 had a kickass battle system.Kh2 also had a great battle system with a difference that it made fights a lot easier.Hell i remember the last fight where literally millions of bolts come from all directions are fired upon Sora and Riku.EPIC! There you had to repeatedly press dodge them by pressing the team move button. In KH1 there was no team attacks except for some trinity moves and that too only at some special points. All in all if you are looking for a challenging battle system then KH1 is the correct choice but then no special moves=
lithuvien
Actually, I am with big bad MT. The ATB system where you control only the leader was not that appealing. If you want to go the RT way, Rogue Galaxy and KH and Seiken Densetsu are good examples of how things should be done.

Noctis
Well, the ATB was never really supposed to be real time. And I think FFXIII had a rather good battle system, problem was the level design and game structure.

And I think FFXIII had a rather good battle system, problem was the level design and game structure. "Rather good" doesnt cut it for me in a FF game. I absolutely loved the FF X system. It was brilliant in the way you could mix up your party and come up with different strategies for defeating enemies. I prefer FF X's system to that of Lost Odyssey, which I consider the best TB of this gen. FF XIII was like a slap to my face and hence I was hoping that FF vs XIII would redeem the franchise in most respects including the battle system. playstation
i would go with ff10 battle system too but than ff13 also had great battle system so wont mind if i get that also....but thing is it was more enjoyable during boss fights ...random battle were not that fun. praveer
FFXIII battle system is almost unanimously considered to be among the best in the series .....so yea, its good. Edited September 20, 2010 by praveer
Karooo
FFX was amazing, Rikku and her combinations omg. The battle system and sphere grid system was fantastic. The game had everything thb. I don't care if they experiment with the battle system, all i want is a great story. In FFXII and FFXIII it was non existent.
