Great trailer, and it looks real-time/in-engine with all that aliasing. PS4 killer app :wOOtjumpy:

Edit: I think this may have been one of the first gaming threads created on the GI forum. Crazy how long this game has been in development.

In reviewing our development structure, we have decided to assign Hajime Tabata as the new director for Final Fantasy XV. Currently, Tabata and the entire development team are working, whole-heartedly, towards completing the production of Final Fantasy XV and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality Final Fantasy title to date. We invite every one of our fans to view the fruits of our labor through Final Fantasy XV's demo, and promise to present a game that further surpasses expectations when the finished product is released.

As the director of Final Fantasy XV, Tetsuya Nomura has mainly worked on the original concept for the story and universe in addition to creating the characters. Hereafter, he will be focusing his efforts on the production of titles that can only be made possible by Nomura, himself, and delivering products that exceed the quality of past titles, starting with another one of his representative projects, Kingdom Hearts III. Square Enix will continue to work on these titles with the best staff formation in an effort to deliver them to everyone as soon as possible and appreciates your continued support.

so, it took them almost a decade to realize turn based combat is a boring genre

will buy this one, my vary first FF game

It is not. If done right, turn based games are much more tactical and fun than real time combat games. You not liking turn based combat doesn't mean it is boring in its entirety.

Freakin amazing trailer , TGS definitely delivered this year.

I think turn based just doesn't suit hack n slash combat IMHO . I love it in Pokemon and Card battle games.

But I think this was a good shift and opens the game to a much wider audience , I know a tons of people who are interested in Final Fantasy but avoid it because it is turn based. It is certainly not for everyone.

Yeah its so fun when you know your super low on health/items or whatever and you'll get f**ked within a move or two still you keep trying and take your time to plan your last move :fear:

Well this happens in real time games too :P , A DMC boss battle when you are low health and no items. It also has similar tension and planning if you want to play offensively or defensively.

Yeah I'm cool with either as long as the game is fun overall :P but for some reason I've had more fun in turn based combat RPGs.

Anyway the hybrid combat system in Ni No Kuni felt the best to me, not many ppl liked that game's combat though.
