Heaven Angel
As we all know Unreal Engine is the world's most used/famous advanced real-time 3D creation tool. It has been used in a variety of genres of games and has seen adoption by other industries, most notably the film and television industry. Written in C++, the Unreal Engine features a high degree of portability, supporting a wide range of desktop, mobile, console and virtual reality platforms. We'll be covering the latest generation of Unreal Engine: Right now covering Unreal Engine V 2 Key Features that made UE5 standout Lumen Global Illumination and Reflections: Lumen is a fully dynamic global illumination and reflections solution that immediately reacts to scene and light changes, offering artists and designers the ability to create more dynamic scenes with greater realism. Nanite Virtualized Geometry: Nanite's virtualized micropolygon geometry system enables developers to create games with massive amounts of geometric detail. You can directly import film-quality source art composed of millions of polygons — anything from ZBrush sculpts to photogrammetry scans — and place them millions of times, all while maintaining a real-time frame rate, and without any noticeable loss of fidelity. Also features like Improved Artificial Intelligence Mass Entity - a framework for data-oriented calculations that allows players to interact with tens of thousands of simulated entities at high performance. Smart Objects - objects placed in a level that AI Agents and Players can interact with. These objects contain all the information needed for those interactions. Mass Avoidance - is a force-based avoidance system integrated with MassEntity. The system provides high-performance avoidance for any Entity using the MassEntity system. Zone Graph - ZoneGraph is a lightweight navigation system that uses metadata to represent specific navigation flows (traffic lanes, sidewalk, wood trail, etc.) as opposed to a Navmesh, which focuses on a physical representation of the world. The metadata is represented by a point-to-point corridor structure connected by segments. Chaos Physics - Fantastic world and games can be built Many game developers are currently building their games with the help of Unreal Engine 5 ..... and more keeps on joining. BK_317
Great thread, might as well ask this...knowing that the engine is heavily single core bound are we gonna be seeing games with only 30FPS modes in the future? Even with a optimized tech demo on consoles,it drops to the low 20s. I don't expect epic to recode the engine to use more than 4 cores all of a sudden...Also what is the first UE5 which is expected to release on either of the consoles? Forspoken? It is capable to do 60fps modes if the hardware can handle it. The photorealistic textures of everything can be quite taxing. No, Forspoken is made on their in-house Luminous Engine. I think the first UE5 game will be S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl if the game is on schedule.

Gotcha,i guess it's upto the developers to learn such a new engine to utilize it better but something just tells me there is not enough headroom for the new consoles to do 60FPS even more doubtful with the Series S. We'll just have to wait and see...

We should see more optimisation. Especially ray tracing is very taxing. Software lumen makes it less accurate but easy on system. As always games releasing towards end of gen will be even better looking than initial batch.

Heaven Angel
Freely based on a real-life train station in Toyama, Japan. The environment is running in Unreal Engine 5, lit with Lumen. didn't use Nanite. Worked on all modeling, texturing, lighting and animation for this video. Aloy
Is there a proper UE5 game out there adopting nanite and lumen? There's the Matrix demo but well it's a just a tech demo, not very interesting.
