They explicitly said they have a plan for all 3 titles, all are inter-connected and you will get the meaning of the Remake by the time you play the 3rd title. If you played FF7R - you will also come across some things that are really strange. Especially if you played the end chapters and the Intergrade DLC. I love what they are doing. They're not re-treading the same ground, but at the same time - the original story is there. It's acknowledged and plays a very important part in the Remake titles. It's amazing what they are doing.
