IGN PC version hands-on

I'll probably get it. Most of the complaints about the 360 version were about the poor performance and that probably won't be an issue on the PC.

get it only if you are really into JRPGs .. also there performance issues .. it runs butter smooth with everthing maxed, its 3 year old UE3 engine afterall ,still it looks quite decent.

i uninstalled it in 1 hr to play oblivion again .. its that yucky if u arnt into JRPGs :fear:

When is it releasing?

its releasing as soon as ur post count resets.. :giggle:

The Last Remnant May Breathe Life on PS3

The Last Remnant has been one of a select few role-playing games for the Xbox 360 and PC in recent years. Created by Square Enix, the title utilizes a real-time combat system as well as quicktime events to deliver a unique blend of RPG and action elements. Thankfully, it seems that the title might be coming to the PlayStation 3 afterall.

Amazon.com has listed The Last Remnant as coming to the PlayStation 3 platform. While this isn’t a confirmation of the title coming to the PS3, the rumors of a port have been heavy for months now. Although sales have been sour for The Last Remnant, Demon’s Souls has proved that JRPGs have a safe home on the PlayStation 3.

For now, The Last Remnant coming to the PlayStation 3 is still just a rumor, but hopefully this unique title finds its place on the platform sometime this year.

Sorry for bumping this old thread..

Is this JRPG any good ? has anyone played it here ??

How does it fare against FF XIII ?

From what I've heard/read, it's decent but not great. Save points are few and the story is as generic as they come in JRPGs. The battle system is supposed to be good.

I wanted to try it as well but there are better options out there... like Resonance Of Fate, which IMO is much better than FFXIII.

Got this during the steam sale and its been one of the best purchases I made so far this year. Whatever technical problems were there on the console version, none of those have carried on to the pc. Its runs smoothly at 60 fps, almost no loading times and haven't come across a single bug/glitch so far.

Coming to the game itself, the battle system is unlike anything I have seen so far among western releases and anyone willing to look past its initial complications (particularly srpg fans) would love it. The game also has a large number of side quests that are interesting and unlike a lot of other jrpgs, extremely rewarding. It opens up new areas, characters and even entire cities which was quiet a pleasant surprise. I would put a cliched opening and a somewhat annoying protagonist as its only downside, but if you stick with the game for a bit thats more than made up for with an interesting support cast and a unique battle system.

^ edit: Tyler, you can save anywhere in this game except during the middle of an ongoing battle. There is also an autsave which is quite useful as you often come across particularly tough or challenging enemies in this game.
