DevilsOwn
Issues with Vampires tMB. I downloaded this game from Steam. It started of ok on my laptop. Then transferred it (backup/ restore) to my gaming PC. Now the mofo isnt even starting on the PC. It tries to load for a few seconds and then crashes to the desktop. Checked the steam forums, basis which i am currently downloading the unofficial patch 7.1 will this help? any other solutions?

KJD
Download speeds might get increased PS bhai. Personally, I have experienced while downloading L4D2 before some 1.5 years. Just for check, I first had set it to Singapore, was getting speeds of 180-200 Kbps. Changed location to India, and noticed speed bump of 20 Kbps. Client downloaded around 2 GB, at speed of 210 to 230 Kbps flat. And speed never went down below 200 Kbps.
Big Boss
I noticed it atleast a month ago. It wasn't there before though. Its been there since a long time. I noticed it when I made a Steam account about a year ago when I got Orange Box. My speed actually reduces when I set it to India or even US. I usually set countries like Singapore, Germany or Norway since they give me better speeds. It might be because less users are using those servers than the ones which give less speed at that time. I have been noticing that too..i think previously my country was greece or singapore(dont remember) now it is set to India...i see speed fluctuating a lot...and even at stable it does not full utilize the speed my connection is capable of that is 2 mbs in the night... MoonStruckHorrors
I get the maximum speed my connection allows(64-70) with both India & Singapore. Haven't tried any other location though. When I checked the option for the first time, India wasn't on the list, definitely.
Big Boss
When I checked the option for the first time, India wasn't on the list, definitely. The list is not sorted alphabetically by default. It lists countries near your current region first and then the alphabetical listing starts. You might have missed it because of it. I am 100% sure it is there since a year. Maybe Spin or someone who has been using Steam since long time can confirm when India was added.
devil_angel
Just use whichever country has lower loads guys. It's on a trial basis though

It is supposed to be the most loaded server + distance(US) also far. yea the indian option has been around for a long time now. however, connecting to the indian content server (or any geographically close server) does not guarantee better speeds. that depends only on the load on the particular server at that time. Load in the Indian server should always be low coz there are less no of Indian users in comparison to Singapore or any other country. I was getting 140-190 kbps in singapore server and 200-260 kbps in Indian region. Edited July 14, 2011 by Piderman

I was getting 140-190 kbps in singapore server and 200-260 kbps in Indian region. there isn't a chance in hell that valve doesn't have load balancing algorithms in place which redirect traffic depending on server loads. in other words, there is no way that the people connected to a particular server (in this case, the indian one) are only those who have chosen it in their settings. i think the choice you set in your steam client is more of a preference and you might get directed to that server first, but it's not necessary that you will always connect to it. in my personal experience, i have got max speeds from the indian server at times and i've gotten crap speeds from it at other times. sometimes a server in dallas is faster than the indian server. it's just luck of the draw really. in theory local servers should be faster but i don't think i can say that's true from my considerable experience with steam downloads. Big Boss
Is Zeno Clash worth it? Money is not an issue, but the time, bandwidth and HDD space? 3.75 USD is not much.
Dontdrop
Is Zeno Clash worth it? Money is not an issue, but the time, bandwidth and HDD space? 3.75 USD is not much. Cool environments and melee combat (in the style of Riddick). Didn't care for it much though, stopped about halfway through.
