dylanjosh
Dude Half Life 2 was awful when it came to this. Even I had major problems. Could not even play for 1 hour before I felt so nauseous and dizzy I had to go and lie down on the bed. Still haven't played it since. I've never had this problem for any other game. Maybe a little bit for Mirrors Edge and Portal, but never ever to the extent of Half Life 2. Edited August 24, 2014 by Aes Sedai
Heaven Angel
Half-Life is king of motion sickness. Other than Far Cry 3, I get headache from pretty much every game with first person camera.

Other than Far Cry 3, I get headache from pretty much every game with first person camera. maybe because you're sitting very close to the monitor? maybe playing from 2-3feet away from the monitor can cause lesser headache?(but its a k/b+mouse combo.....so sitting away from the monitor is a no-no ) Edited August 24, 2014 by kold_war
Heaven Angel
Around 1.5-2ft distance. Yea, nothing beats Half-Life sickness.

djanuj
Well then you guys won't be buying VR headsets for gaming? Cos then you won't sleep for a year. The technology for Virtual Headset has increased to a very good point. See Oculus Rift & Sony Headset. Half Life on those headset will be "Mind Blowing" for people who don't get motion sickness etc. Edited August 24, 2014 by djanuj

playstation
Half-Life is king of motion sickness. Other than Far Cry 3, I get headache from pretty much every game with first person camera. if half life is so unplayable and most agree ...how come it is regarded as greatest game of all time on pc?? btw i see u have problem like me but u still manage to play FPS?? I also play FPS but far and very few...like one in a year and that too might not be able to stretech more than an hour or two max. But borderlands felt bit easy on eyes...may be because of cell shaded graphics.
Heaven Angel
Because it's that good. Even with crappy 75 FoV and motion sickness, it's best game. Also, it's like 10% of users have this issue. I still load up episode 2 occasionally and play for an hour before headache kicks in. btw i see u have problem like me but u still manage to play FPS?? With frequent breaks while playing, I manage to minimize the headache. Also, brightening the room helps. (since my room is fully covered by drapes) But borderlands felt bit easy on eyes...may be because of cell shaded graphics. Borderlands is different story for me. Playing solo - headache. Co-op - nothing. Edited August 25, 2014 by Heaven Angel
ox-
I can play FPS for 24 hours straight (and I have) and feel nothing. But I can't travel via car/taxi Because of motion sickeness..? Sent from my C5502 using Tapatalk

KyoyaHibari
Never had problems with hl games or its mods. Hl was one of the earlier fps with solid campaign, good story and atmosphere, nice variety of levels, cool weapons, environment puzzels. Also many modders did cool mods out of it, counter strike is one such. That's why its so popular. Only game that had noticeable -ve effect on me was batman arkham asylum. Batman covers half of the goddamn screen while he is walking and he walks very slowly, it was so annoying.

I left borderlands in between because i like linear fps...usse mein toh yeh karo woh karo... I can play FPS for 24 hours straight (and I have) and feel nothing. But I can't travel via car/taxi Because of motion sickeness..? Sent from my C5502 using Tapatalk I am suprised bcoz i have no problem with taxi/car and i have travelled some of the most difficult roads in india...i have thrown up but that is due to eating all that Side Dhaba food like crazy but not because of motion sickness. I can play Half Life or any fps for 24 hrs straight with no issues of motion sickness. kemosabe
This happened with my first time, when I finished the Spiderman PC game, long time back --
kemosabe
Motion Sickness is a condition, its written in most of games booklet/case as cautionary statement. I never felt so far, even its opposite with me, I like blazing fast First Person shooter, Mirror Edge is the best example to test Motion Sickness. If someone is complaining about MS from a certain game, that means developer is successful in bringing out the actual first person momentum to the game. It's just bad luck for those gamers who suffers, nothing to do with the game, just play other type of games.
