Won't be as unique.

It can. You can explore different time periods in a country and can provide a distinct look and feel to it. Hence you have a Victorian era London in an Assassin's Creed game looking very different from the modern day one in Watch Dogs game.

For instance, I'm playing Tsushima right now and it has a war torn look to most of it's areas and other areas ranging from wide open fields to snowy mountains. Lot of the times the world feels empty, but that's not a bad thing and it perfectly encompasses the desolated setting of the Mongol invasion/brutality.

Ubisoft can explore a different region, different theme and make it interesting in their own way. If you look at Odyssey, they nailed the look of ancient Greece. For all the flak Ubisoft gets, they create spectacular environment and world. We just have to wait and watch out for more details on what part of Feudal Japan they are exploring.

Odessey landscapes were wonderful, so was Fenyx Risings in looks which was par with BOTW but sharper. This just have to be good in all aspects in AC standards. Expecting every game to be unique is excessive and mostly lead to disappointment.

Exactly, I'm not worried about their world creation, but more on how refined the game is in terms of it's combat and for f*ck's sake Ubi just reduce the f*cking bloated collectibles hunting. If there is one thing I loved about the way Tsushima approached their collectibles is that they were very limited and had very specific purposes attached to it. For instance, if I'm doing the Fox Dens/Inari shrines, I unlock my charm slots and later gaining additional power to certain charms OR gather singing crickets to play a different song on your flute. Hell, even the side (Tales) quests were brilliantly crafted. Every character driven Tale had a very specific story arching over the whole game and it not only helped me connect with them, but anticipate their outcome till the last act; that's what I need.

But knowing Ubi's traditional micro-transaction filled approach, they'd probably squeeze every single penny out to sell those additional XP boosters and cosmetic bullshit. It's a fools dream to expect them to tone that down.

Ye. Valhalla brought more than $1 billion in revenue. There's no reason for them to please the old fans.

@Heaven Angel Do rename title thread.

Interested to see the numbers for this game in Steam.

Yea, if IVG would've been live during the controversy, this thread would be a golden one.

  • Heaven Angel changed the title to Assassin's Creed: Shadows

Does the game look kinda stiff and choppy for anyone else? Like, it doesn't look as smooth as the AC games usually do. Not sure if all the trailers are at 30 fps or something like that.

Also disappointed at the art direction. This doesn't look anyone near as good as Tsushima.

I am actually interested to play as him and see how his strength etc works in Japanese setting. He was supposedly said to have strength of 10 men and was exploited a lot by Japanese people, by treating him like a slave etc. However would have preferred another Japanese guy as main character too so that you can switch between two characters and have varied combat. I mostly skip all cutscenes in AC games anyways so it doesn't matter if he was gay or whatever.
