What's wrong with KJO-SRK movies? They are entertainment. And they sell. Same here - IW cashed in on the money train. They are charging crazy money and they promised the earth. It's called advertising. No one forced people to buy the game. But people still are.

 

Bottom line - we might try to be pretentious and say that we want Damien Hirst or Tracy Emin but we are usually happy with Playboy. MW2 is the equivalent of Playboy - it sells. Whereas there are games like Grim Fandango and Psychonauts and the more recent The World Ends with You which only a handful of people will buy and appreciate.

 

So yes - you paid a more money for it. Yes - you feel disappointed that you didn't get Megan Fox stripping in front of you while you played MW2 as you expected for that price. There was always a choice that you couldn't have bought the game. But please stop whining that it's the worst game since Transformers 2. You exercised an option and it turned out to be less than optimal. That's life and unlike video games there is no pause button.

 

All I hear on this thread is that MW2 sucked. I refuse to believe that as a standalone game it sucked. Of the few reasonable posts I've read (and Sam's post is one of them) I gathered that it's a well made, well executed game and basically Modern Warfare gameplay with bells and whistles added. I cannot see anything wrong with that. Graphics does not make a game. Halo 3 has sh*t graphics but it still rules MP because of the experience. Whether a shadow falls askance is not something I want to care about in an action game.

 

PC players have a legit reason to complain about having no dedicated servers. It nerfed their gameplay experience big time. Console owners shouldn't crib. And people who are pirating this game and cribbing should just f**king die anyway - you qualify for a Darwin award.

 

Now excuse while I go play a game which looks like it was made 10 years ago and still is brilliant. (Dragon Age)

 

 

yeah, the game doesn't look worse than cod4 and it doesn't look last gen... that's exaggerating too much... the campaign is good and has it's moments and it looks better than cod4.. The only thing is, it's short. The MP feels just as good as cod4 and looks much better with a few added features here and there...

 

 

+1 to both. I'm with both of you on this. The game is fun to play, even if it isn't anywhere near UC2's graphics or game length. And it doesn't look bad.

Where did the argument of low brow vs high brow entertainment enter this discussion? Udhams point about the whole KJO scenario wasn't to say that games like these are beneath him but to validate the point that the hype for this game is selling it more than it should.

 

I am not sure at what point it became acceptable for a consumer to bend over and take it but it sure as hell isnt the way things should be. If you have bought the game and it didnt meet your expectations (and almost everyone who has posted here has actually bought the game) then you have a right to feel ripped off. Graphics arent the only complaint here. In fact the only gripe people have about graphics (and why its getting mentioned so much) is because almost every website went on to say they were amazing and they arent.

 

Granted pirates complaing or bitching about the game is pointless but from console owners who bought the game the complaints range from - short campaign, not as good as the prequel, not being able to play online, having to wait for a patch to fix trophies etc, gameplay issues (the tomato ketchup effect), bad AI (ok that one is a franchise standard now so I am willing to ignore it) and confusing storytelling. All of them are genuine legit issues. And even if the game was priced at 2.5k they would still be an issue. Saying a game has problems is not the same as saying that it sucked.

 

And yeah IW will patch some of them and fix it. But lets say you bought a refrigerator. Only it doesnt work as it should. The cooling is low and the fridge light dont work. Sure its in warranty and someone will come and fix it but would you really not give the shop owner hell about selling you a new fridge that doesnt work? Esp if he was only fridge seller in your are and charged you so much that it felt like daylight robbery?

 

Seriously. People need to stop making excuses for IW.

Played some MP, and it was fun. Some of the maps feel similar to those in COD4, but some of the maps are brilliant. I particularly liked the

airport terminal and the rain one

 

 

I've had no issues with lag; green all the way.

guys i was also not able to connect to match making i just changed my router from my beetel 220bxi to dlink adsl and now it is working trust me this game just isn't compatible with the beetel routers

Lol, I never asked for Megan Fox stripping naked in the game. I just expect game to be better (than COD4), and considering so many aspects its not the case. The PC owners cribbing a lot because they have more reasons.

Game pricing is a different thing, few things would have sucked even if I had bought this game off TP for 25% of it's price. I might have cribbed less but that doesn't mean I would be satisfied.

Pricing is not the sole thing which puts you off, but it becomes a major factor when you don't find the product good. Then the housewifish things like "Oh I paid this much for this game and it's so crap" start popping up.

 

 

And KJO-SRK are too hard to ignore, just like MW, because they make the movies your GFs/Wives like. And you shouldn't spoil the chances of a nice cuddle especially when your are in early 20s.

If you are having a problem inviting a friend to an online game game, check the following:

 

Disable any firewall or security features within your router

 

Set port forwarding on your router to the IP address of your Playstation 3. This game uses port 3074 (UDP/TCP). You should also assign your Playstation 3 a static IP address inside your home network, this will help ensure that the configurations you made do not need to be redone. You can get instructions for this at http://portforward.com/ or your internet provider.

 

Your friend may also need to follow the above. If your friend has any hardware or software firewalls/routers then he may have issues connecting to you.

 

If that fails, try this:

 

1: One player who is hosting the match sends invites to all players who wish to join.

2: Players wait for invites to arrive.

3: After receiving the invites, do not accept them. Have the players logout of PlayStation Network.

4: Restart game and log back on to PlayStation Network.

5: On game title page go to your message sent from the host and click join/accept game invite.

6: This should allow you to accept the game invites.

ok that is seriously not a fair assessment. if you are only interested in single player, then yea, it's kind of expensive. add in spec ops (which is really cool btw) and it will add hours of gameplay depending on how you play it, how many people you play it with etc. i've done 6 our of the 23 missions and i've played spec ops for about 2 hours now. yes, i've repeated missions with different friends but that doesn't make it less fun. and the real value for your money comes from multiplayer, where you can spend countless hours playing.

 

so it's really not fair to say that there are only 6 hours of gameplay in the game. if you have no interest in mp, that's fine, and it's diminished value for you, but it's not a shortcoming of the game.

 

here are my stats with the game so far... unlocked on steam on thursday morning.

the green bars are very generous with what they consider playable. anyone below 200ms ping gets all green bars. while it certainly is playable, it's not fair to say that it's all fine when most of us are playing at 150+ latencies anyway.
