Heard bad things about Jio fiber on reddit, long ago @Bird Bird Bird used to say they are good and all( even in terms of pings or NAT etc ) but now idk.

Becoming more restrictive with the passage of time. Gigabit speeds are an issue. I only get 700-800 Mbps, and it is FINE according to the gentlemen at the backend (not the poor soul who comes to visit your house, but the escalation team sitting behind him). I raised this through an email as well, no replies.

I would jump ship if Airtel was at my place.

Went to the first page just to see the messages. Aah the late 2000s. I moved back home from college in 2008. In College had speeds of a few mbps (LAN was like 40-50mbps most of the times, internet around 3-4mbps), then moved home and got BSNL unlimited (like a few people on the first page), with 256kbps (32kBps) download. Sucked but those were the days, downloading a simple movie took hours or days. I remember a few days where BSNL was testing new hardware/plans in my city and I got 4mbps for a few days. I was over the moon! Couldnt believe it. Then it ended suddenly :(

If someone would've told me then that I would get 200mbps unlimited at the same price and option of 1gbps, my head would've exploded. Feeling nostalgic.

Wtf why the block though?

Most ISPs, even mine, so it's one of those DoT notifications.

And nobody knows why

Holy sh*t what nonsense ! Blocked on jio and Airtel too. Opens via Cloudfare warp.

Just get a free VPN, say F**k off to DoT and these ISP tyrants. Proton VPN is a good one IMO.

VPN is about to be quite a pain in India after the new cybersecurity laws announced in April. Basically, every PII has to be shared with the government, rendering VPN's privacy moot. ExpressVPN has already exited India, and they plan to set up physical servers outside India to ensure data violations don't occur.

Already have a Nord sub right now which is expiring in a month. But yeah like @Bird Bird Bird said it's a sh*t show right now for VPNs.

Hey guys so I have been using ACT for past 6months, though the connection is fine Whenever there is a downtime they take a day or day and a half to sort the issue out even if it's a simple issue.. So was thinking whether Jio is better in their service because even the 399 plan would be enough as I am living by myself in Chennai right now..

Anyone from Chennai sharing their experience would be appreciated..

Also how is their free service for a month they give with 1500 , do they give the refund back or so they cause issues?

Hey guys, i recently got a new airtel xstream connection and everything is working great. But i want to use my Asus router instead of the Airtel one. I read online that the way to do it is bridge the Airtel one. I have no knowledge in this regard. Online articles are not very clear. Does any one have link to a step by step guide/video? and do we have to inform airtel to enable any LAN port as bridge? Details would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Quick update : Spoke with Airtel guys. Said they can bridge the airtel router but i need to pay for static ip for it to be permanent else after ever restart they have to re-do all the settings. They also said i cannot do anything by myself. Only they can change the settings.

Cheers.
