So my current speed is 512 during the day and 1 Mbps at night, does it become 1mbps during the day and 2 Mbps at night?

Just_Another_Guy
hmm... yep.. so with tax.. i see that coming over 1k. whats your budget?   i made an error in speed earlier .These are the 2 plans ,I am looking at  One Airtel 749 Uninterrupted speed @ 256 Kbps / 1 Mbps + Free goodies worth Rs. 200 Speed @ Day 256 Kbps Speed @ Night 1 Mbps Free Broadband Download 8 GB Free Calling Value Worth Rs.100 Free Airtel Prepaid Talktime Worth Rs.100  Surf 899 Speed @ Day 256 Kbps Speed @ Night 256 Kbps Free Broadband Download Unlimited Free Calling Value Worth Rs.100  The next higher plan 512 kbps is 1099 ..pretty much out of my reach  I am home only on weekends/holidays so around 12-14 days/month and will only be using it for surfing(no large dwnlds) and ps3 . Surfing will take around 1-1.5 gb ..I played kz2 online a few days and it took around 300-350 mb for 5-6 hrs online/day(max 5gb for 14 days) ... so I am thinking whether the 8gb plan shuld suffice ....  but downloading demos can be a problem esp if dwnld gets interrupted but will I be able to dwnld demos even with @256kbps UL coz it will take like atleast 8 hrs to download 1 gb(@35KBps) and am damm sure it will get disconnected in b/w Edited February 22, 2010 by akhurana
dullu
if u do not have demos in mind; go for the first plan...8gb for u is nuff to surf and play online...but be careful with downloads
KWC
PSN allows you to resume your downloads. Â I reckon go for the Unltd plan, peace of mind bro. Â You won't have that niggling thought in your mind telling you .. have you crossed your limit?
dullu
choy if the downloads are disconnected in between (power/connection failures etc) the download becomes corrupt
KWC
Aha.. that way.. you can time your downloads can't you? Â In Bangalore you pretty much know when the power is going off as there is a routine!

I have a very bad feeling its the latter.... Airtel is known for such lowblows on users recently. Pls check with them and ask for an official email before u commit for the change in plan. Man In The Box
What is FUP? And what do you mean by data caps? Sorry but could you please explain the statement ...
indusporus
What is FUP? And what do you mean by data caps? Sorry but could you please explain the statement ... fair usage policy the max you are allowed to download..it's 100gigs for my 1.5mbps TI connection...above dat, they'll either reduce the speed to half or charge per MB or both..
