Houndini
Posted on PC Experts thread too. But it's more related to the net Have a problem guys.I have a net connection from a local service provider. Have been given a static IP and have to do a web login before I can surf the net. My plan is UL. There's no time or bandwidth cap. I can access my account settings & all's well there. The problem is I am getting signed out every 10-15 mins. Speed goes down to zero and cant access the net. Takes me to the login page if I try to open any site ! I checked my settings & everything's seems well. Is there something I could be missing ? Because the guy says everything's perfect from his side ! :| Help !

Nikushimi
Guys, I'm planning on shifting to the 512 UL plan in BSNL. Is it any good? Go for the 600kbps u/l plan from Reliance. I am currently using that plan. It's a combo offer with 600kbps u/l internet with no FUP and free calls worth Rs. 50 (I think). On European servers I get a ping around 200 for Quake live. It's also a bit cheaper than BSNL @ Rs. 700 (650+tax) per month.

Houndini
:/ Did you check for any options in your login page? Also, ask your ISP to change your connection from manual login to 'instant connect'. Like plug and play. Manual login is stone age old They can't. Apparently it's primary use is for volume based logins, and they can't disable it. And even though it's stone age, it's 1MBPS UL, with 300 GB FUP !! Max one can download over 1 MBPS is 316 GB over a month, so it's practically UL !! I don't care even if they make me dance for it, but can't stand those shitty 15-20 GB FUPs ! :| IP details tell me Internet Service ProviderTATACOMM-IN, INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER IP Location 6th Floor, LVSB, VSNL, Kashinath Dhuru marg, Prabhadevi, Dadar(W), Mumbai 400028 Country INDIA Latitude, Longitude 19.11105, 72.87093

devil_angel
That's a fine plan you've got there Pity it's giving you problems. I'm sure that it's got to do with some login setting. Your ISP should be the one looking into it.

devil_angel
Dude. How did u get a 20% concession? It's got something to do with my dad being a govt. employee dude. It sounds as if you are the one at fault here when actually, your ISP should be held responsible for that. If you don't pester the guys, you'll never get something done in India. Superfrag
Guys, has anyone actually got FUP'ed? I see so many people crying about FUP and its limitations, but I yet have to see anyone being affected by it, even when they have hugely gone over the threshold. Nikushimi
How much does it cost for the airtel 4mbps connection? Is it u/l? Edited August 31, 2010 by plane_x
jDaMn
How much does it cost for the airtel 4mbps connection? Is it u/l? I just got an Airtel 4 mbps. There are different plans, just check the website. It is unlimited, but if you cross the FUP, the speed is reduced to 256k. I took the connection so that I could host games as well - turns out that Airtel provides a 1:8 upload/download ratio (called up customer care). Even with downloads at > 4mbps, I only get upload speeds ~700-750k.
