Solitaire
I'm on a 1mbps plan now, but here's what's coming for the next 1 year when I move to Georgia Tech, Atlanta (taking on-campus housing) in 2 months time: Georgia Tech provides one of the fastest internet connections in the country to every resident in GT housing, with speeds that can reach 200Mbps! Source: http://www.resnet.gatech.edu/Pages/default.aspx Second fastest internet in the US after the Pentagon Also a speedtest result done on-campus result done in 2009: OMG Just can't wait! Upload speeds are capped in dorms there though, but uncapped over wifi.

Superfrag
@Gaurav : Use EU or Asian servers for testing. You're testing on a local server..

Solitaire
@Gaurav : Use EU or Asian servers for testing. You're testing on a local server.. Haha yeah, I will when I'm there after Aug 20th. I've mentioned that it's a result from 2009. Apparently tests with outside servers still give 350Mbps or so.

Nikushimi
What's the point if they still throttle your torrents?

Sherry Jose
Am using BSNL 750 plan (with 512kbps speed). From yesterday evening the speed has shifted a wee bit, to the region of 2Mbps . What where when how? I don't know, but am loving this goof-up / decision of BSNL. I am not alone Even i check the speeds yesterday and it was just flying, getting torrent speeds from 70 - 100 kpbs btw, i have the same plan
AngerSmash
still getting the same speeds?
SRINI87
BSnl 750 ul speedtest.net always showing 0.8-1.00mbps but while downloading its 60-70 KBps
Pushy
i might migrate to DSL 1333 plan, nice one it seems, 1MBPS for day and 2MBPS for night, Unlimited and no fup MTNL
Maximus
Did anyone check out the new airtel plans? there's still no no-FUP plan but the caps have been raised and costs reduced Got myself 4MBPS 150GB FUP cap @ 2099 Cool buy, thinking of getting this plan myself. Hows the speed and everything? Personally haven't faced the torrent speed throttle yet, am on a 1 mbps plan but after the FUP my download speed is 512 kbps since am an old customer. Am thinking of starting with a 75GB FUP cap @ 1699 and see how it goes. Edit: Whats with the upgrade only from your next billing cycle thing. Cant believe Airtel behaving like some govt. owned enterprise. Edited June 15, 2011 by john marston
