vinitwins
reliance is rolling out wimax services (eliminates last mile connectivity issues which increases costs) across various cities in india - i think the 2mbps/4gb plan costs under 1k BUT their nascent services are plagued with various technical issues (bad weather, changing tower positions, software glitches resulting in no IPs being assigned for hours etc) airtel has also announced a 4mbps plan (pricing not available) that should roll out shortly. and tata indicom's 1mbps (unlimited) offering is now available in more areas - check tataindicombroadband.in for details. lastAvenger
I honestly don't trust Reliance Communications. I am very very happy with Airtel. Good company and excellent services. Introducing 2mbit plan with 4gb limit is stupidity. I can finish that much within a few hours.

MarketTantrik
So far I'm loving my Tata Indicom connection. Smooth and lag free gameplay. Excellent download speeds. But this is still the honeymoon period.

MarketTantrik
For online gaming the upload speed is equally important. Sure, with MTNL you can download your "research material" very quickly. But when playing online especially on a P2P system live XBL, the connection lags are more frequent. The upload should have a minimum throughput of 256 kbps for smooth gaming. Obviously the higher the better. Luckily TaTa Indicom caps their upload speeds higher at 512 kbps. Which means lag is minimal.
