Blueelvis_RoXXX
So finally my epic broadband came to an end. From 6 days over airtel i was getting 2mbps speed even though my limit was over [PS i get 256kbps after limit] Well managed to download like around 40-50GB of data during this time :3 And guess what my plan is for 699 a month [2mbps tlll 7GB then 256kbps unlimited] only The only condition is that i cannot reset the router, last month also i got a boost but considering it a fault i restarted modem Now won't do it ever Also, i had a question in mind for the experts, is there any way to extend the lease of the IP? Like i get 6 days lease for the ip. Last night modem restarted because of the lease expiring only. So if i can extend the lease, I could get 2mbps till i wish
meaNmachine
So there is no Reliance Wired broadband in Bangalore, only the pathetic wireless ones Airtel has some new plans. Transonic 1500 - 8 Mbps, 80 GB FUP, but speed post FUP not mentioned. Will it be 256 or 512 kbps? Another good plan, Transonic 1250 - 8 Mbps, 60 GB FUP. Again speed post FUP not mentioned. _Krypton_
He suggested change to 2 mbps till then as that will free the bandwidth and improve pings. They are not giving 4 mbps in my area at all now. But the thing is, I get full speed in torrents always, even with high pings and speedtests showing low speeds.. So not sure what to do. Even i get high pings .. M on the 4Mbps no FUP plan currently .. Can switching to 2Mbps really reduce pings ?? If yes then by how much .. Currently getting a ping average of 250ms all over india with just mumbai @ 70ms . Testing it @ delhi , mohali , gurgaon , bangalore gives anywhere between 220ms - 350ms :/ . Big Boss
What does Reliance Speedometer give you? Mention both: Speeds and Ping. My speeds are very low at night/busy time, it gives only 256-700 kbps line speed. Browsing feels slow. But once I start a torrent, it goes upto 400-500 kBps download i.e. 4 mbps line speed. So continuing it and said goodbye to MP gaming

Nemo
Dont know where else to post this (not a member on indiabroadband forums and dont want to create an id) so please help me out. I brought an airtel 3g post paid sim sometime in july last year to use in my ipad. Later on in december 2012, as it was becoming a distraction, i decided to dump it (ipad usage altogether) and asked airtel to permanently deactivate/close my number. Cleared all my dues and withstood all their begging, persuasion regarding not closing the number, converting it into prepaid.. etc etc. You know the drill. Finally they agreed to shut it down and told me that the number will be deactivated before 4th jan 2013. Now again i got a bill for dec 12-jan 13 couple of days ago. It shows that the number was deactivated on 17th dec 2012 and activated again on 24th dec till 28th (not clear but that is what my local retailer says). So today I talked on a hotline given to the retailer to a customer care rep and he said their systems/server or what ever are down and they would be able to look into this matter only after ~4 hours when they are up(?). Will go again this evening after the 4 hr period to the local retailer and use the hotline to figure out the problem. Any other steps that i should take ? How to ensure that my number is permanently shut down, rather how to ensure that the airtel people do it without making me run circles ? I dont want them making any future bills for something that i dont use.
godspeed4476
Whenever I shutdown a phone line or sim card I always make a point to make a small note of the reference number and the person in talked to and jot it down in notepad. If you had made the request and it got through its not your fault that the number got activated again.
Nemo
i have the referance number. going there again in a few mins. lets see.
harsh1387
^ bsnl/local cable wala/Airtel. Applied for a Bsnl connection. Some guy called gave a number of someone who will come and give demo. That no. is always not reachable. Called their CC and they gave me another number which also no one picks. Crap. They dont even have a cc email id. If they dont wanna sell their product to me their loss. Cant use airtel as had bad experience with them and dont have cable wallas here anymore. Any other option?
