Even though plans are better in Bangalore (80GB/40Mbps for 1466), still not nearly enough for digital downloads :(. Post FUP its the same old shitty 512 Kbps

Damn, I miss BSNL's night unlimited !!

So I'm using MTNL. I want to give them one last chance. Even though the Internet gets disconnected frequently, it doesn't bother me much. I'm patient and can deal with it.

I currently get speeds of 1.1Mbps (from 7:00am - 7:00pm) and 1.8Mbps(from 7:00pm - 7:00am) for ₹950/- per month.

Should I upgrade to 8Mbps till 165GB and 1.5 Mbps afterwards for ₹2350/- per month?

Do you think MTNL will cheat in FUP usage statistics? Would 165GB be enough? I mainly only stream Anime/TV Shows/Lots of Youtube videos. Apart from that, I download games whenever I feel like (usually 8-10 games)

My current plan: R.S 3000

8 mbps Unlimited for first two days of the month. No FUP.

2mbps Unlimited for the remaining month. FUP: 125 GB

After FUP: 1mbps.

 what kind of sorcery is this

Queue download on last day of month. Switch on download on first day of month, non-stop till 2nd day finishes. You can download 175GB in 48 hours @8Mbps. NICE plan.

512 after FUP? NO WAY. :suicide:

Yup, broadband plans should always be chosen based on post FUP speed..... 'imo'.

If you are okay with the added expense, thats a pretty good plan I'd say.

Exactly. And I can download around 14 gb a day with 2mbps.

What provider is this?

I'm in Pondicherry and it's this new ISP : http://www.smartnetisp.com/#

Their website is still under development. It's a local setup so they're pretty flexible. The admin told me that if there's ever an important download, he told me to give him a ring and he'll give me 10mbps for it. I won't abuse this favor though. I'll save it for something really important some day.

Currently on this plan with BSNL

Upto 4 Mbps till 20 GB, 512 Kbps beyond 20 GB @ 1425 / month

Thinking of changing the plan but these are crappy options available

Upto 8 Mbps till 30 GB, 512 kbps beyond 30 GB @ 1745 / month
Upto 2 Mbps till 40 GB, 512 Kbps beyond 40GB @ 1800 / month
Upto 1 Mbps till 100 GB, 512 Kbps beyond 100 GB @ 2250 / month
Upto 16 Mbps till 80 GB, 512 kbps beyond 80 GB @ 2845 / month
Upto 4 Mbps till 200 GB, Upto 1 Mbps beyond 200 GB @ 6300 / month (not even gonna...)

None of them seem like awesome options but as BSNL is the only provider, what would you suggest most VFM? (lol VFM)
