Sato, Why not get ACT? Cheaper than airtel, Faster than airtel and they dont count uploads in FUP. I've used it for 6 months when i was in bangalore so I can verify that Uploads are not counted in FUP.

Hey guys, just wanted to check, does the FUP for am Airtel connection info include both download as well as upload? I have a 50 GB FUP limit, so of I regularly upload any files, does that also get deducted from it or is it only applicable to downloading?

Yes, both. Go for higher FUP plan.

Probably not available in his area. If it is, I also second your opinion.

Launch of Facility to restore higher speed in Broadband unlimited plans

BSNL has been offering Unlimited Broadband Plans to Customers who wish to avail higher speed where the speed opted by the Broadband customer automatically gets reduced after the higher speed data transfer quota is reached as per the plans. Thereafter for the rest of the month, customers are able to use unlimited broadband at the reduced speed. BSNL was receiving references of reduced speed after higher speed data transfer quota and also many customers wanted to restore to the higher speed.

Based on the customers demand, CMD BSNL Shri A N Rai inaugurated a facility to restore the original speed of such unlimited broadband customers on payment of nominal charges which will be added in the next broadband bill.

The charges are Rs. 100/200/300/500 for additional 2GB/5GB/10GB/20GB data transfer quota at the higher speed for the rest of the month. For availing the facility, pop-ups to broadband customers will be flashed as soon as they cross the higher speed data transfer quota. Customer can opt to restore the speed through this pop-up and for this they shall be charged in next bill accordingly.

T&C apply

For more details please log in to www.bsnl.co.in or call 1503

Just got this in a mail from BSNL. Edited by Walker

How is ACT in Chennai. They have just started their service in my area. Do they have frequent downtimes and how is their support mainly? They respond to service calls promptly?

Just saw a few reviews and its not very encouraging. I had even made a call to them and they said the sales guy would call in 24 hours but its been 2 days since. Anyone having good experiences with ACT in Chennai?

Question for Bangalorean IVG members

I currently use Airtel, however their ping to european servers are over 180 and I feel that is a big hindrance for playing PES Online. I was hoping if anyone of you could help me choose an alternative service provider.

I love Airtel, their service is good and thats the only thing stopping me from switching to another Service provider.

What do you guys think about ACT? Are they good? I live at Tavarekere near Forum Mall, Hosur Main Road.

I am also open to other service providers/local service providers in Bangalore. Suggestions would be appreciated.

It is hard to beat Airtel when it comes to latency. All in all, you simply cannot have a low ping to EU.

ACT is pretty good, but check out their FUP limits.

Yeah check that out. Even raised a new service request but so far no response from them.

Oh is that so? Actually people even from Europe experience button lag with PES and maybe its a problem with a game in itself considering other games work normal, most of the times.

Anyways let me wait to hear from ACT and ask them for a product demonstration.

This is you broadband "youbroadband.in"

You would need to check the feasibility and fiber backbone to get this plan. Luckily in my area it is both. And AFAIK, no per hour FUP.
