i_rock098
Have you tried asking their customer care whether they can expand to your building as well ? They have a chat option in their website I inquired on it and they gave me a generic reply that Spectranet is not currently feasible at my building don't know what that means. Will talk to them on phone and see if I can get them to. Ask their cc for connection request: 18001215678. In society adjacent to mine, there are 4 buildings. Each building has their own separate society. Spectranet is present in 3 of those 4 buildings because 4th building refused for their contract. They have a sucky cable of 1 Mbps for 1099 with 40 GB fup lol. So check with your society too. The chairman might have f**ked it up. Thanks for the number, will call them up and have a chat, most probably it is the fact that you mentioned, my society might have refused to give them permission. I have a few questions about them if you don't mind. 1) How many days did it take to install? And was the installation free? 2) What is the final amount you pay for 50 Mbps unlimited including taxes and everything? 3) Do you really get 50 Mbps and how is the customer support? Big Boss
1. Installation was done in a day. It was free for me along with router. Some offer I guess. 2. My plan is quarterly only. I pay 6323 per quarter. 3. Speed is inconsistent. Sometimes it works great. Like currently I am getting 45+. It reduces to 25-30 or even 10-15 during peak hours at night. But torrents download at 5+ MBps and Steam downloads are fast too. No buffering in Netflix or video streaming. Lowest download speed I have got is 500-700 KBps. Mostly its 1-2 MBps in peak hours. Non peak its 6-7 MBps. Overall I would say that speed is satisfactory. They should work towards providing 40+ Mbps speed all the time. But our population is so high that the bandwidth gets clogged during peak hours.
ganeshran
I find that bit offensive Its been installed in some societies of Mumbai from months and for free. No charges at all. It sounds like wired connection. Is Jio also going to launch wired broadband? Edited January 19, 2016 by ganeshran
Big Boss
Yes it will be wired too. I don't have any hopes from wireless connection apart from it being cheap.

newuxtreme
I spoke to some airtel guys on their customer care... They say places in CP, Gurgaon and Okhla are now receiving 100/100 up down fiber optic connections? Is this true? They say the changes have been very recently made and will keep continuing around Delhi.

MoonStruckHorrors
Shifted to Bangalore recently. Airtel 1349/- for 16Mbps til 80GB. Been using it for about 20 days now. No connection problems. Although it took 2 weeks and countless calls to actually set it up.

Agent 47
I have this query and i don't know where to ask so asking here.. ACT broadband has approached our apartment association asking for permission to set up some device on our terrace which provides FTTH connection plus they plan to pay us rent for it as well.. So does ACT steal bandwidth from other broadband providers cause i'm on airtel and don't wanna see some irregularities with my connection..? goDofWar_skr
So does ACT steal bandwidth from other broadband providers cause i'm on airtel and don't wanna see some irregularities with my connection..? How do you think ACT can steal the bandwidth? The two ISPs provide internet via 2 separate cables.. There is no way ACT can influence airtel/reliance/any other ISP's connection at your apartment in any way.. The only problem with bandwidth happens when there are a lot of users in the same network for a particular ISP (its called contention ratio).. Which is again restricted to individual ISPs.. SRINI87
Heard that airtel proposed to reduce speeds to 64kbps after FUP instead of 512kbps wtf

goDofWar_skr
I don't think they will ever do that.. They will surely get killed by the competition if they do so..

blitzkreiig
Guys from Delhi... How are MTNL's services? I'm using Airtel but it's turning out to be pretty costly. Any other better alternatives?
kanbad
Anyone from NCR using Reliance's thunder 699 plan ? Is the ping acceptable for ps4 gaming ? sometimes it works great and sometimes not. depends on the location as well . i have played some pc games as well on a ps4. the thing is it is inconsistent. and i am not even talking about the pings. the whole service is inconsistent. it takes a day off in a week just as we all do. atleast in my area. Guys from Delhi... How are MTNL's services? I'm using Airtel but it's turning out to be pretty costly. Any other better alternatives? don't go for it. pathetic. two of my relatives use tata photon as a backup.one friend switched over to another ISP. MTNL is infamous even in the speedpost office here in janak puri area. most of the time their service is down.. even the postmaster is fed up. I will never support Airtel but their customer service was very good till i was on their connection( dont know how it is now). the FUP sucks and they need to improve.. i suggest you to get reliance unlimited plan. on average down once a week. and may take upto 24 hours. i mean to say you will get 6 days of service if you pay for 7. and if you cannot manage in that you can get use a backup such as 3g or whatever you can get the cheapest.
