People who have experience using both the connections [like Madhav] will tell you that Airtel sucks. TATA guys get a lot of Hosts [at least in Halo] and also have ridiculously low pings! Also, ping is (almost) the single most important thing that prevents lag. The only reason why people here tell you to switch from your current ISP to Airtel is because 90% of the people on LIVE India are on airtel and because of that fact, the lag will obviously be less since you'll be playing with a person whos on airtel....like you. Airtel-to-Airtel = Minimum Lag You have to be kidding me. Back then on my 256kbps line, i used to host a 6 player Gears of War 1 match and no one used to lag, when consoul used to host it on his tata which was a 1mbit line, everyone lagged. Airtel anyday Ftw The reason why no one lagged on your connection was because the rest of the people whom you played with were on Airtel too....Im not saying Airtel is bad....its brilliant but Tata is better overall. Have you ever played COD4 on Live? TRMNTR Posted January 19, 2009 Report Share Posted January 19, 2009 There will always be a bit of lag while playing on any connection....obviously Airtel-to-Airtel will get you the least lag but the lag a person gets while playing on Airtel if hes on tata is not unplayable like it is if you're on BSNL. If given an option, Id definitely prefer Tata over Airtel because I can live with a bit of lag....it doesnt need to be lag free. If Im on tata, I can play with other asians/arabs because my pings will be very low compared to Airtel and BSNL....not only does that mean less lag but faster match making aswell. Come to think about it, i have never lagged whether it was on Xbox Live or PSN. I had used BSNL DataOne about three years back and then switched over to Airtel. I have been with Airtel the most. Their services have become quite ridiculous though forcing me to email them bad emails with frustration. I wanna avoid sify coz of the custom dialer which makes it incovenient to directly connect to my router. I connect to PSN for online gaming. strategy Posted January 27, 2009 Report Share Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) I also have tata but......lags too much in Halo 3 mine is 256 Kbps.......the speed is constant and it never disconnects.....but cant game on the net(laggy Live!/PSN) also "dropped its terrif"?? how much is 512 now!
