Systematic
Is anyone using a TATA VSNL connection in Mumbai particularly the one that requires the user to login before accessing the net? If you do have this connection and if you are using it with a router can you explain how to set up the PPPoE on this particular network. -Thanks in advance

_Hellsboy_
I just did my speed test and this is what came up. I'm a little confused. Is the 251 kbps actual download speed???Cause i get max as 30 kbps. 8 bits=1 byte. Those 256 are in bits and the 30 are in bytes. Computer knowledge n00b its an essential these days
Systematic
The download speed you get when you're downloading files off the net is actually kBps and the speedtest shows your speed in kbps, the difference is bits and bytes... The conversion ratio is divided by 8. Edited February 5, 2009 by Systematic

TechGuitar
OK guys....after that N00B experience i got a question. I'm using 256 kBps unlimited Sify broadband right now and paying a little over 1k a month. I was thinking of switching over to 512 kBps unlimited but from a different ISP. Pls. suggest me some good ISPs in mumbai...preferably in the Powai area at cheaper rates. I had a 2 mbps MTNL DSL connection earlier but with a download cap and it used to disconnect a lot from my PS3. Wherever you're located TATA is your safest bet, although they're slightly more pricey than Airtel. The best part is if you do opt for a TATA VSNL connection you will always get your promised speed and upload will be symmetrical and maximum upload is 512kbps.
