TRMNTR
New ISP: Ping times to New York not bad, right? That's officially the best connection in GI
TRMNTR
Is that how much my upload should be on a 1 Mb line? The upload is never fixed... So, you'll get whatever speed the ISP wants to give you! (Though < 1 Mbps) And why is my ping to Delhi 39? At least that's good compared to my

killzone123
well getting rid of tata 512UL...its been a very bad experience with them....reasons being 1.presently 3 days have passed my connection is down and no response despite calls to them 2.In previous complaints also I noticed that my complaints are closed without my knowledge and I had made this known in my last complaint .The technical dept does not visit me or talk with me but closes down my complaint mentioning as “spoke with the customer” 3.i tried ringing up technical dept for around 2hrs but I cant even get to speak with them. The IVR gives me a message that the wait time is more then 12 minutes and the line gets cut on its own.which is really disappointing for any customer and I wasted like 20calls doing this only 4.this was the most important one Recently someone from “fair usage policy Dept” rang me up and told me that I have a limit of 80gb or 90 gb,and if I cross that then I got to upgrade my plan.Well it does not make any sense to me when I went for a unlimited plan due to my high usage only.I checked with airtel and they have a “fair usage policy” where after 100gb download my speed will become half but they wont discontinue my account or force me to upgrade my account. so now its tata to tata rang up airtel...thank god they have recently got connectivity in my area...new connection they will be setting up soon...lets hope airtel service is better then tata... MAK
Well Tata Customer service in Mumbai is awesome as my complaint is sorted within 8-12hrs max even if the engineer has to come to my place to sort things out max 8-12hrs so i guess it all depends on which city you live in for Tata connection. Well if you're using VSNL don't expect the customer support number to be of much assistance. It's essential to grab the number of a good engineer when you see one. Same thing happened to me once. Either way, I've never heard complaints about Airtel customer care. If it would have been available here I would have definately grabbed it but unfortunately it isn't. With what I've seen their pings aren't the best but they are overly generous with their download bandwidth.
Freelancer
i have heard something abt a perticular term, i guess its called masking, airtel is already having a court case pending for it ! what they do is , in their unlimited plan they reduce the dload bandwidth after u reach a certain defined limit, this way u don get to dload much , which u wud have done wid the original bandwidth ! neways m using 512 mbps unlimited tataindicom wimax ! no complaints so far, n m from bangalore !
