Systematic
It's good to see some improvement in the Indian broadband sector (thanks to Airtel). When I came here two years ago people couldn't get a decent 256kbps and now everyone seems to be upgrading to all the new 2mbps plans. I hope the place I'm shifting to has Airtel, can't stand these other ISPs anymore. Edited July 20, 2009 by Systematic

Phoenix Wright
I don't know about anyone else, but Tata has been really good to me. Have gotten some real value for money from their packs, and their service has been excellent (again, I'm speaking from personal experience). In some areas they're great and in others they're just wires that claim to provide internet services. From the majority of reviews I've heard from Airtel customers, it's safe to say that they are pretty much the best at service and value for money when compared to the other major ISPs. /Not getting paid for pimping Airtel Do all the new 2mbps plans come with unlimited downloads? Wha are your options if you don't want to go with Airtel? The thing is, the 2mbps and 1mbps plans that they offer are better in most aspects than other ISPs. Also, they have varied plans to cater to a larger variety of broadband users, for example: the plans that double at night. If you don't want to go for Airtel, you have to check which other ISP is good in your locality. TATA is the only other seemingly safe bet. Absolutely correct! Apart from the service and value for money, Airtel connections are the most stable in terms of D/L & U/L.

Never in my life though, did I ever think 4mbps would be this affordable. Sure it's time-limited, but (theoretically) 14 hours of 4mbps unlimited downloads a day is fantastic @ around 1800 bucks a month.
Keyofx
UNLIMITED?! Bargain at those prices.

Phoenix Wright
What plan are you on exactly? I saw a few 4mbps plans but not with the limits you've defined. It's the Super Quick 450. Validity: 6 months Number of hours: 450 Speed: 4mbps Download limits: None. Price: 10600 (approx, don't really remember the exact amount) That looks sh*t at first glance, but you have the option of enabling 9pm-9am unlimited access at 500 a month. At 21 bucks an hour, that takes away around 150 hours of access from your pack. So you're left with around 300 hours for 6 months, with 9-9 unlimited @ 4mbps. It's not exactly 14 hours a day, but it's there or thereabouts.

They have the following 2 tempting plans for Mumbai: Unlimited 1mbps @ 1700 Unlimited 512kbps @ 1300 (doubles to 1mbps in the night) Even though Airtel has implemented the FUP, their plans are oh so tempting. All my communication with airtel for these plans says that FUP is not applicable on these but YMMV 2. Even if FUP is applicable, the min speed it can be reduced to is 256 kbps.
