We will compete in tests even without Virat.
One of the openers should bat well with Pujara & Rahane.

Our fast bowling line up is solid.
Yes, I have hope. Our pace bowling options are fantastic right now. Judging by how pink ball behaved today I am sure Kohli will be tempted to play 4 pacers in Adelaide and leave Ashwin out. Siraj bowled a beautiful line and length, Shami was outstanding, bumrah was relentless and Saini was raw pace. Though Umesh may still play ahead of Siraj and Saini cos of experience.

Gill looked so much better than Shaw who has serious flaws in his technique. However, I believe Shaw will still open with mayank and Gill will replace Kohli in second test. If Rohit is playing third test then upon Shaw's performance in previous 2 tests will decide who stays in team, him or gill.

Also, I was watching the match and when that ball hit Green I was seriously worried. Was so pleasing to see Siraj dropping his bat and running to his aid. IPL and other leagues have seriously bonded players together and the animosity of yesteryears have really subsided.

I'm kinda lowkey happy for that. :fear: Since our bowling such a*s against batting allrounders. They are our Achilles heel.

Shaw seriously

Yea.
Atleast they dint drop Mayank

Whats the point of practice matches.
Shaw neither scored nor looked like he can play in these conditions.

Saha n Pant could have gone either way.
Saha is better keeper and was in better form in IPL as well..

Wy is KL being overlooked, he has looked in fine form, could have tried him in the practice game.  If we bat first i am looking at 0/1 in 0.1 over :P

KL wont play tests anytime soon.
They dont want him to put a toll on his body as he's keeping in white ball cricket.

Rohit / Mayank / Gill / Shaw.  We have 4 openers already.

He could have played as a specialist opener instead of this chu Shaw.

Somehow I have the feeling benching Gill and Pant will come back to bite Kohli in the a*s.. Shaw is a walking wicket and Saha simply doesn't cut it outside India.. basically we are batting with 5 batsman and long tail..

Only hope is to win the toss which again isn't gonna happen cos Kohli is unlucky in this .

What was the point of gill and pant scoring in the warm ups if Shaw had to get a free pass? Unless Bholi and the drunk are obsessed with wanting to prove everyone wrong even at the cost of a win?
