We needed strong openers with proper technique in this condition. This was not an IPL paradise. They took New Zealand very lightly, came without preparation under overcasted condition. Overcasted condition for New Zealand is like eating mangoes. How easy it became to bat later on when the sun was out. They would have chased 8 runs/over but our openers failed us. Welldone New Zealand, please win it from here! You deserve this World Cup more than anyone else. I have not seen such strong bowling in a long long time. Since Wasim Waqar days. India need a proper batter at no 4. sh*t like pant or rayadu or shankar won't cut it anymore. We need to quickly find the next Yuvraj and Raina. People will only call pant the X factor till he is unseen and plays around 25 innings, once he's gone past that he'll be getting the boot quickly. The only way I see him fitting into this side (or any side) is if he opens or is used as a floater in DK/Jadhav position. No 4 is way too high for this unpredictable pos.
