Unless Dinda was injured, no sanity in that decision at all. Everyone chipped in, but no one carried the innings. Run a ball 40s and 50s were good enough for 300 chase, and not 325. Except Dinda and Kumar, every bowler has played 40+ ODIs. And since every batsman, except Kohli fired, expect everyone to catch-up with law of averages next time. Chewie Posted January 12, 2013 Report Share Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) rahane is getting this bad habit of throwing his wicket away suddenly. he'll be playing well & then out of nowhere will pay a bad shot. he seems to be a bit flustered as though he's under alot of pressure to grab this chance he's got after long. someone should speak to him & assure him he's got a few series & to relax & play normally. we know dhoni wont do that ("at this level i dont need to talk to the players..") so it'll have to be the selectors. England batting 1st.. Pretty good team selected by MSD..Too bad Pujara has to miss out.. But its good they are not playing him and making him open the batting.. dinda is in for Shami Ahmed..Its a flat track , we need someone who can bowl few good yorkers and can control flow of runs.. really? what different has he done from last few months except for rahane & bk? Man In The Box Posted January 12, 2013 Report Share Posted January 12, 2013 Why did Suresh Raina not bowl a few more overs? He took the wicket of Cook I think and had a very good economy rate. Also, Dinda made a great comeback and I can't understand why he did not bowl one of the last two overs. I think 325 was not an easy total to chase and we should have restricted them to around 280-300. Dhoni, in the post match conference, said that at one stage England could have scored 340+. This is true but after pegging them back to 250-260 after 45 overs, we should not have let them score that many runs towards thee end. But atleast they got runs.. The 38 runs in last 2 overs cost us dearly...Dhoni should have used more spin.. We cant depend on jaddu to finish games at no 7...He can just chip in few runs sometimes , but when we need quick runs or when the team is under pressure we cant rely on him... really? what different has he done from last few months except for rahane & bk?
