Anikesh
also we will see murli vijay justifying the "good" selection tomorrow commentators are very supportive of bhajjisaying stuff like he just needs 1 wicket to get into grooveso opposition shud throw away 1 wicket to bhajji for him to bowl good
Chewie
When did I 'ask'? lol, look at my comment again - i was agreeing with you when you said that "raina...wasnt a test player". there were others asking for him on basis of 1 irani trophy innings
Chewie
1st test of a series against india & the opposing captain is very obviously out but given not out by the umpire. he then goes on make big runs. sound familiar? this is Cook of ahmedabad test redux. if the same pattern continues expect 2-1 loss for india. once again, we stick to our tradition & help a debutant establish himself. after joe root (& to a certain extent nick compton) earlier in the season it was moses's turn now. Clarke & Cook seem to be soul brothers. both made their debut in india with a century, then both became test captain around the same time. both made their career's highest score against india in the '11-12 season with clarke making a triple ton & cook almost doing the same. this wicket looks similar to the dead nagpur wkt of the 4th test against Eng except for little more bounce. expect a dull draw unless the wicket changes character remarkably or either of the sides bats exceptionally poorly. ashwin bowled well (finally!!) to pick those wickets. please spare us from the "talented" & "hardworking" & "unlucky" ishant sharma. if after 46 test matches (as long as many bowlers entire career) you still cant pitch the ball in the right area (which someone should tell him is in the batsmen's half not the bowlers') then you shouldnt even be allowed near a school level team. even his own parents must be shocked that he still gets picked! AtheK
Mose's is actually a very good player, give credit where it is due. And yes missing DRS is hurting us big time now, usually we end up getting more bad decisions then opposing team. Well serves the officials right, but it is the players who have to face the brunt. Right
lol, look at my comment again - i was agreeing with you when you said that "raina...wasnt a test player". there were others asking for him on basis of 1 irani trophy innings I dont think Irani trophy inning was the reason for people to ask for his inclusion. He is in-form with bat. He can be tried. He can do better than many players. Thats all. and ya grandfather openers playing tjeir last series. Hope to see Sehwag to drop few more catches and throws away his wicket. His departure is really required. AtheK
A day prior to the first Test, when Dhoni confirmed that Harbhajan Singh would be a part of the playing XI, plenty of questions were raised. After the toss when Dhoni made it clear that Bhajji was picked at the expense of Ojha, who is perhaps India’s best bet in Test cricket, it made everyone wonder as to what it was that Harbhajan did to earn a place ahead of Ojha. Our reporters caught up with Dhoni and Bhajji to put an end to all the speculations. “Cricket is driven by money. Our broadcasters, sponsors and the board lose out on a lot of revenue if the game ends before 5 days. The curator here is my good friend and the most knowledgeable curator in the whole of India. He did prepare a rank turner, before I even spoke to him. There was no way the game would enter Day 5 had we played Ojha and Ashwin together. N Srinivasan clearly told me that the game should last the distance. We needed someone who could give away some runs and also not take any wickets at the same time. Bhajji was our best bet. And the occasion beckoned his inclusion – Bhajji’s 100th Test. And we picked him,” said MS Dhoni. “Well, of course, Srini sir has strictly advised me not to shake hands with the opposition captain before the stipulated end time on Day 5, even if the game is heading to a draw”, Mahi added. Of course, Harbhajan Singh had a different story to tell. “It was a barter system between the BCCI and Cricket Australia. They asked Ponting to retire and also allowed him to play the IPL. And in return, they wanted me to be a part of the squad. It’s simple. Their people love me. The TRPs sky rocket with me around. But what they ignored is my talent and experience. I will not just increase their TRPs but also destroy them by picking as many wickets as possible”. As soon as Bhajji said that, our reporter failed to control his laughter and Bhajji slapped him. To get a neutral perspective, we asked Sehwag the real reason behind Harbhajan’s selection. “Harbhajan made it through the Punjab quota. I was selected thanks to Delhi quota. CSK quota meant that Vijay, Ashwin and Jadeja got their chance,” Sehwag said. However, nobody came up with the real reason why Harbhajan was included in the playing XI until Rohit Sharma came to our rescue. “We have a tradition in the dressing room – A lucky draw competition where we write down the names of 5 weaker players and pick one from the lot. Whichever name pops up, that player is included in the team. Dhoni used to ask me to prepare the lucky draw and I used to write my own name in all five pieces of paper. That’s the reason why I got so many chances. This time, the luck was with Harbhajan, I guess,” he said. Nemo
Ashwin bowled really well... I'm sure he'll even score some runs.. Lot of people wanted him to be dropped Even BK's figures are bad , but he bowled a lot better , Few boundaries went of edges in his bowling.. So wanted to know if bhajji got any bad decisions or something like that.. Also the reason for bhajji being in the team is the no of left handers that are there in the australlian line up... We dont dont have any other off spinner.. Dont think they'll score so much.. Siddel , lyon are not known for there batting.. BK is pretty much guaranteed to suck in Indian tests. No pace and batsmen friendly dust bowls in india dont compliment each other. Also i dont get the "left handers so extra off spinner" logic. India has 10 right handers in the match, are aussies playing a leg spinner ? You are making the game seem a lot more complicated than it is. you pick your best 11 from the people you have got, given their recent performances, not because what may or may not trouble the opposing team. Dropping Ojha who has 33 wickets in last 6 tests for harbhajan is either very stupid or bordering match fixing.

Things are just way we think they are - BCCI's way. As far as I can guess, Vijay will just be carrying water bottles.. The selection committee and Dhoni are so obsessed with left-right opening combination. Dhawan most likely to get his test cap in Chennai. A Delhi boy gets his test cap and a local boy carries water bottles, in Chennai, not happening.
Right
Bhajji should actually get suspended from bowling in second inning. WTF was that. Either learn to shut-up OR shout with your head shoved into Seenu mama's a*s.

From this i can clearly say that ur knowledge about cricket is limited.. #1. Umpire's decision is final decision. Umpire make the best decision, use of technology screws their heads. This has been confirmed by BCCI so many times. So if an umpire gives a bad decision, he is bad. #2 So you want all the legacy players to come back and play and keep winning matches after matches. Fair enough. #3 The right-left hand doesn't matter, not that Warne never got any left-handers in all his life.
AtheK
DRS or not, this is pathetic umpiring, i don't understand why only players are fined, Umpires should be fined match fees too for such howler decisions.
