godspeed4476
Not to forget he is just 23. If 30000 people boo you, you are bound to lose it. In that regard, he handled it well. Just that he slowly needs to gain control of his anger in order to become a better wholesome INDIAN cricketer. But gambir i think was inexcusable. He can't even say that he plays for India

He can't even say that he plays for India Low Blow... ^^ (@athek) why not? There are things you need to follow. If you want to be a cricket player you need to learn certain things. There are many talented people out there with a lot of talent on their respective field but just because of their anger issues and mannerism they are not success/don't even have a job. I am saying this as general. I know sometimes you can't control yourself and I personally think he reacted quite well (compare to his standards lol). As time progresses he will learn. Just give him some time guys, the guy is good. I am pretty sure senior players will teach him about this in the dressing room Yes you have to, that is why i said give it some time. This is his first assignment and season as a captain, he is mixing it right now, with time he will learn to distinguish the two. IPL is the best platform to groom him, and if he keeps repeating his mistakes, don't make him the captain. And he has learnt, he was angry till the end with Gambhir episode, today he handled it well, he will only improve.
godspeed4476
All of this captain talk reminds me, when Kochi Tuskers was created, our Appam idiot had expressed his desire openly in the public to captain that team What a sight that would have been

silentassassin
Dont judge Kohli yet.... He's still young and he will learn..Also you need people like these in the team.. Even Ganguly was aggressive . he was successful... @ nemo I think most of us here agree that we dont IPL to be like football... Country >> Club... Also its ok when 2 footballers of same country fight during their club matches , as neither the clubs belong to your country nor the players

piper
When Kohli started playing (and performing well) as part of the national side, all I could think was "finally we have a player who has the aggressiveness and non-senti approach to the game, similar to the Aussie way of playing". We need players like him. Players who don't cave in under pressure. As to the debate of whether he is a good captain or not : frankly, if it doesn't interfere with his own performance then it is a viable option. But if it means that he is not going to be punishing bowlers like he usually does then captaincy should not be handed to him. Keep him vice-captain of national side like Sehwag had for a while. And those cover drives .
AtheK
Yeah at Bangalore we were booing our very own RP Singh for obvious reasons... lol true. As a matter of fact Sehwag was cheered by Blore crowd, and irfan pathan was cheered for his sixes too. Mumbai crowd went overboard yesterday, but it happens. @Hope: Yup we lost two last ball matches away from home, definitely our team is struggling. The team in form is KKR, winning three matches at home and losing home and away too, oh your team is so bad, that they were thrashed royally on a flat bangalore batting pitch too. So you can't play away, and you can't play at home. Brilliant

Right
If pathan cannot win from here, he should drop himself from ipl. 2m$ per year for a guy who doesn't win even 1 game by himself. Bugger scored 1 to get off the strike. Edited April 28, 2013 by Udham
