mshingore
Getting stereotypically hateful are we? Anyone who has seen his 2012-'13 record will say that he has got in through his performance, seven in an innings against Australia (pre 0-4 and ashes Australia, mind you) in Feb'13 being the high point. His performance has not had big news because team he plays for is quite weak, meaning they dont win many matches. That happens with players from smaller domestic teams. Look at dhoni's record in ranji before his debut if you want to compare. There is no evidence to say that he has been selected to compensate for him being wrongly profiled on the base of his ethnicity, because- 1. The incident happened four years ago. Why wait till now? 2. Giving him a selection is far too less of a compensation for the accusations faced by him, rather that were put on him, that came to a naught and case of misunderstanding/profiling by the way. Dude that was meant to be a joke :-/
mshingore
I pointed it out because of all the politics that has been involved in this matter. Even if he was the bowler of the season, that doesn't mean you automatically get drafted in the playing XI. Your talent has to suit the team's needs. And as Kohli has explained in the papers today, he didn't fit their scheme of thinking as far as the bowling attack went. He'll get his chance when the time comes. Giving him a cap just for Kashmir is not going to do him any good.
Big Boss
Also don't forget this is India's first 5-0 win away from home EVER. Kohli went for the win.
avkash
no no, it was because of genuine hate for Kashmir
AtheK
let us just keep Kashmir and politics out of this thread please, or it will be derailed no time. Bottom line is he did not play because he is probably still not ready, but he should take heart that he is atleast considered in top 25 indian players. arv95
The Aussies were at the receiving end of the bad decisions due to DRS last test and now its good to see England getting a taste of it. Hope the rains stay off and the Aussies win the game. Will make the the forthcoming tests interesting Edited August 5, 2013 by arv95

harsh1387
In my opinion Kevin was out. There was definitely a sound. Drs has become a joke. ICC will have to do something about it after this series. I feel Hussain is the best english commentator right now. Isn't as biased as botham and give logical reasons for everything. Chewie
Whats the whole fuss about Rasool getting a game ?? So everyone gets a game in their debut tour ?? Rayudu is been touring with Indian team for more than 2 years now , Finally got a game this tour...So u are lucky if you get a game in your first tour.. Rasool plays in lower middle order for his domestic team..U cant drop Jadeja and play him , he's not so good a batsman.. Also they wanted to give jaddu and Raina some time with the bat in the middle.. To play Rasool you have to drop Mishra , Mishra will not get a game once Ashwin comes in , So it would have been harsh to leave him out..Rasool is young , he'll get his chance... One more thing may be , the team management dint think he's good enough.. Varun Aroon dint play in England , He was very quick for an Indian bowler...Everyone in commentary were discussing y he dint get a game.. Later Sourav confirmed that he spoke to few team members and they think he's too wayward with his line and length... So even with Rasool this may be the case... +1 so many other players have gone on more than 1 tour & not got a single game. amit mishra & vinay kumar were on the bench for whole WI & CT tours. rahane went on how many tours before he got a game. getting politics & regionalism into it is just plain despicable. yes, it would've been good to give him a game since he was the only one in the squad who didnt but making a big deal out of it will only harm him coz next time selectors will say lets not pick him otherwise there'll be another controversy I feel Hussain is the best english commentator right now. Isn't as biased as botham and give logical reasons for everything. he's as biased as the rest. the best imo is atherton followed by gower
Chewie
Rohit Sharma gets out for <20 in 50% of his innings & Raina in 45% of his innings. so basically you can toss a coin to see whether either of them will play a useful knock. rohit then too can do well in Aus/NZ in WC, Raina will be a big flop there. we have a lot of int'l tours coming up we need to try out a few others in that spot before the WC. i think Stuart Binny can be a good prospect. he's an attacking batsman, a good fielder & most importantly he bowls seam which will give us a different option from the other part time bowlers who all bowl spin
dante77
Yeah, Binny looked very good in ipl. He was ignored in young player of the season though. But I don't think he'll get a chance. Sad..
