playstation
He's been playing from the age of 16 and never once has he shown anger or cursed. Super props to his parents. When Saurav had opened his shirt against that win over engalnd...sachin went to that Shukla(BCCi guy) and told him Sourav should have not done that..its a Gentlemen's game and it just does disrespect the game. When John wright had slapped Shewag the Sourav and Co. reyolted saying John must appoligize to shewag ....but sachin went and told Shukla that if John Wright does that he will loose his respect and coach is like a guru it would be like asking guru to bow down.... Asa values aaj ka generation ka kohil .yeh log kaha se samjhega.... Asa nahi hai ki sachin has not got angry but he lets his bat talk ....
Right
It was really sad.... BCCI for once was right, giving Sachin what he truly deserved. Not that 200 nb matters but that he got to play his last test in Wankhede, in front of his home crowd.

Sach4life
The criteria is f**ked up in the first place. Actors and singers can be given bharat ratna but not sportspersons? Lol..wtf..

Lol..wtf.. How else will you differentiate between a role model and an icon? I feel that they should've given it some serious thought before approving the amendments. If you pay careful attention you'll notice that the highest award in any country's honour system is awarded to people towards the end of their life. This is done under the assumption that the recipients are very unlikely to involve themselves in any political or non-political controversy/scandal thereby protecting the Bharat Ratna's credibility. Name one political party that wouldn't want Sachin on their side? The government is honouring Sachin with the Bharat Ratna to ensure that he remains indebted to the current ruling party. If he does accept the award then he'll have no choice but to seriously consider teaming up with them. The government has painted a nice big target on the back of Sachin's head with the Bharat Ratna. All it takes is one mistake on Sachin's part directly or indirectly, which will most certainly blow up into a nationwide scandal, for the credibility of the award to be hit for a six. Sach4life
Knowing him, he wont be joining politics or siding himself with any party. He has steered clear of any sort of politics his whole life and i expect him to remain the same. As far as accepting bharat ratna goes, he wont be accepting it keeping politics in mind. He is agonna accept it as a matter of pride as its the highest award in India. He would be seeing it as india's honour and not political move. He deserves it more then anyone else. pixeljunkie
Yep now I sense what is at play here I hope he is not part of a "planned" retirement & doesn't affiliate himself with any sort of politics atleast for next 3 years But what happens after 3 years? The Bharat Ratna from INC hands down trumps even their recent effort to relax FSI regulations. Now that INC has ensured Sachin will be seated amongst them, the remaining parties will definitely plot together to assassinate Sachin's character. Doesn't matter if its 3 years or 13, he is just too powerful and influential to be part of Politics.

Sach4life
So, what you guys are saying is that he should never be given a bharat ratna as it automatically sides him with one political party? Lol..

Sach4life
do you really think the INC cares? There is a time for everything...even in Sachin's case Do you think bharat ratna being given automatically makes one a member of the party giving you? Do you think sachin would be going out campaigning for congress or getting himself associated with a party? He has remained away from these things and now that he has retired, he would want to remain away from the media scrutiny and live his own life instead of being in the pressure again and joing politics or siding with a party. Sach4life
I am pretty sure, sachin would remain from these things and would now freely live hus life without any more burden and pressure.

The recent FSI controversy has proven one thing - that for all his genius, he has poor judgement. One can argue that BJP surreptitiously forced the waived duties as a favour on Sachin. But even a layman can suggest converting any one of the many rooms into a gym instead of approaching the government for "help".
Sach4life
Joining politics is a whole together different thing. His has just finished his career after being in contant pressure for 24 years. I dont see him joining politics. People can speculate all they want. I dont see that happening at all.
