Banz
Our batting is not weak in the first place. Dravid himself was batting for us in the last tour. Scored 3 centuries as well. That didn't stop us from losing 4-0. With bowling this bad it doesn't matter how good the batsmen are.
Right
Dravid shouldn't have got involved with Team India. Its useless.
harsh1387
Dravid shouldn't have got involved with Team India. Its useless. He knew that even when he debuted for India [emoji6] Like I said before this attack can't take 20 wickets. Hence, we will lose. If Dhoni has an ounce of brain he will play extra pacer in place of Ashwin/Jadeja or someone like binny who will be better than a spinner there. Banz
Dhoni doesn't have one. He's been playing for so many years and he probably still doesn't understand that you need bowlers to pick wickets for you... you don't get free wickets like in limited overs cricket. In India we don't have much of an issue because we can put up a huge first innings score and then let the scoreboard pressure take care of the opposition. Many of the inexperienced foriegners can't handle spin. If the opposition batsmen show even a little bit of application, then we are in trouble. That's what KP and Cook did to us and we lost the series 2-1. And why was he asking for rank turners then? Did he not realise that England had 2 world class spinners themselves? Extremely one dimensional thought process by Dhoni. It's like you tell something to a kid, and he belives it since he does not have the ability to think for himself. Even after the recent New Zealand series he criticised the batsmen. When the bowlers couldn't bowl out the opposition in more than 7 sessions... Does he even understand cricket?

Please dont play Ishant...Fker is going over 4 - 5 runs a over in test matches This is a 5 Test series. Gambhir doesn't need to worry, he'll get his chance. He didn't really do well last time around... forced Rahul Dravid to open. Ishant went for over 7 in the previous game. And that's against a county team who are not even considered that good. Imagine what Cook, Root, Bell and the others would do. Hell even Stuart Broad has a shot at a century. This is Cook's best chance to get back to form. Chewie
chushant has bowled some 8+ noballs in both matches (& many more went unnoticed). this is in between bowling his usually trash. still he's certain to play the first test & prob'ly whole series unless he gets injured virat (who seems to be one of the worst catchers in int'l cricket.) has dropped 1 catch in each of the 2 matches. he has minumum of 1 drop per match. last time he cost us a test match win abroad (by dropping B Mac in NZ when he was <40). the winner between ind & eng in this series is not in the difference in batting/bowling but fielding. we've dropped a minimum of 1 crucial catch per innings in last 4 tests abroad. we've struggled to take 10 wickets against the 2 bottom teams of tier 2. derbyshire are not even playing their first XI & still we struggled. in their batting yesterday - Harvey Hosein's best innings in his last 10 matches is 16. He made 53 * Durston had only two 50 somethings in his last 12 innings. He made 95. so in short, be ready for 0-5. if chushant plays then they deserve it

Banz
Betfair giving odds of 24/1 on England winning 5-0. Overall the odds are between 0.9 to 1.1 for England winning the series, 1.5 to 1.8 for India (seriously that low) and 4+ for a drawn series. It seems that the English betting companies are playing it safe. It might be because Sri Lanka won the last series. Here were are expecting a 5-0 whitewash and even the bookies there are giving us a decent chance. Edited July 3, 2014 by Banz

We will do much better than last time for sure..There's no way it'll be 5 - 0..
Banz
If you're not, then maybe you should. I am hoping we could save a couple of Tests. I don't realistically expect a win. Our only chance for a win would have been if England would set us a target, but Cook is not adventurous enough to do that. If we have to bowl them out in a day and a half I still wouldn't trust our bowlers.
Params7
Here's hoping India doesn't embarrass themselves in England again. We'll probably lose but if the contest is close fought, it would be an improvement.
harsh1387
As crap as our bowling attack is I got a feeling we won't lose the series this time even if we can't win it. Sent from my Nexus
Man In The Box
Do some of you guys also feel that a 5 match test series is a bit of an overkill in today's times? I love test matches but I feel a 3 match test series is ideal. 2 is too short and 5 is too long. At max, I don't mind the 4 match test series played in Australia. But I believe that 5 test matches is too much except maybe for the Ashes. I would prefer a 3 test or a 4 test series.
