Razpor
Binny was decent ,he got one wrong decision while batting and its no secret he is not a good enough bowler but he atleast stuck to his line ,even created chances which were put down by our brilliant slip fielders ,he is not a test material but he can do well in odis and t20s
Razpor
^^ agreed. Binny was pretty decent whenever he got some time to show his ability. people were going WOW over Aaron but he ended up going for 5 an over in the last inning. Aaron is too raw but he will become a better bowlet i am sure of it,he never drops intensity which is rare in indian bowlers .His accuracy although needs lot of work, also he needs to develop an outswinger Edited August 18, 2014 by Razpor
ZooZoo
Binny is good for ODI's. He can do the Ian Harvey kind of job lower down the order. Pick him on seaming conditions instead of Jadeja and play with 3 genuine fast bowlers plus ashwin.
ZooZoo
We should play Aaron and Umesh regularly. We have given enough chances to chushant. These two guys have raw pace and once in a while when they are accurate, they have made life hell for batsman. I still remember Umesh's one spell against Aussie's during last tour. Boy, he was fast and swinging the ball at that pace.
arv95
^ Agree that we should play Umesh in Tests atleast. He was good at the test level. No idea why he got dropped. When they are persisting with Shami, they should do the same with Umesh
Chewie
It was at the press conference after the game in response to George Dobell's question whether the batsman should play a season of county cricket instead of the IPL. The English media is just sticking the knife in, aren't they? Seriously, the 2 months in a year we play T20 affects the other 10 months we play the rest of the formats? Most countries have T20 tournaments which span a few months. How come it doesn't affect them? oh so it was a gora journo that asked that qs as i expected. they have a real bamboo up their a*s abt it which can only be put down to jealousy. in that case good reply given by dhoni he shuld've also asked how did england lose 0-5 to aus in that case especially when they consider test cricket so sacrosanct & dont play any ipl. at least ipl helped us win the WC which those fkrs have never done. i love how all english media are jumping abt this result on their doctored pitches. they dont realise this result is like india beating say WI/Ban at home. even we beat WI last time where 2 tests took total of 5 days. but we didnt jump up & down like they are doing. instead we showed concern about state of WI cricket. here the eng media are taking a lot of pleasure in india's problems. veryy classy. i would wager this eng side can be beaten by WI in WI next year & aus will roll them over at home too even if they doctor the pitches like last time to make it look like a drought had hit them. harsh1387
Will agree with Chewie to an extent. English media and players have a jealousy corner for Ipl maybe cos they were the ones starting t20 but got nothing out of it and India created a successful IPL. Problem is not with ipl. Problem is with the technique and temperament of these players and it is the job of coaching staff to solve it which they have failed in again and again. Big Boss
Regarding county cricket, what I feel is Kohli and Pujara definitely need to spend some time there, playing 4 day matches. England is a different beast when it comes to seaming and swinging conditions. In Australia, SA, you get fast pitches with extra bounce. I think our guys can handle that comparatively better. But these guys simply lacked the technique to play swinging ball. Kohli was too side on, Pujara wasn't able to cover the swing, and all this not once or twice, but for 10 freaking innings. All our greats who did well in England and rest of the world like Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly etc played county cricket. We have scored 600+ on a seaming wicket thanks to these guys. Kohli, Pujara etc need to do the same. Playing IPL for 2 months is not going to improve their technique. They will always struggle in England. Those situations are impossible to replicate in India. Cool cloudy weather, green tops, extra bounce, 135-140 kph bowlers with pin point accuracy, it just wont work. I am glad that Pujara has told Ganguly that he is interested in playing county cricket after IPL next year, as there is a 2-3 months break. I dont care what English think and why dont they practice in subcontinent, I want India to do well internationally. Also Dravid was sh*t in Australia 99 tour, and he became a legend after that. I hope same happens to Kohli and Pujara both.
silentassassin
They should sack Fletcher immediately.. There's no point keeping him anymore..
Man In The Box
Goodbye from test cricket, Jaywardene . One of the best players of our time and we have been privileged to see him bat. Great to see him exit the test arena with a 2-0 win too.
Chewie
love how someone gets affected when anything abt goras is said. brilliant reactions from the white a*s worshippers who step up to defend them always. as they say "angrez chale gaye inko chhod gaye.." AtheK
ya anyway there was no hope with this team in Test, but IDO is going to be a diff ball game together.
Chewie
yeah. i would say till WC at least fk test cricket & focus everything on WC campaign. to that end i would suggest the following - (1) sack the fletcher-dawes-penney combine who have contributed zero. get in dravid/ganguly/bangar immmediately ie someone who knows the domestic setup & cares for indian cricket beyond looking at it as a pay check. (2) identify the WC squad & rest all the players from all tests from now onwards. anyways Aus series is going to be failure so no need to damage confidence any more. play a "A" team in the WI & Aus tests, no matter the result. this will also reward the players who have done well at domestic level & who knows we may identify some good cricketers who fly under the radar like bhuvi. (3) send dhoni, virat, bhuvi et al in nov/december to Aus not to play tests but to practice for the WC in Aus conditions against other teams. bcci can pay CA if needed Edited August 18, 2014 by Chewie

silentassassin
In culmination of the discussions among all the office bearers of BCCI over the last couple of weeks, the BCCI has decided to avail the services of former India captain, Mr. Ravi Shastri to oversee and guide the Indian cricket team for the forthcoming one day international matches against England. Mr. Duncan Fletcher will continue as Head Coach while Ravi Shastri will be the overall in- charge of cricket affairs of the Indian Team. In their continuing efforts to re-energise the support to the team, the BCCI has given a break to the bowling coach Mr Joe Dawes and the fielding coach, Mr Trevor Penny for the one day series and appointed Mr Sanjay Bangar, former Indian all rounder and former India fast bowler Mr Bharat Arun as the Asst. coaches of the team. Mr R.Sridhar will join the support team as the fielding coach for the one day series. Finally..
harsh1387
Bangar is a good choice. No idea about Bharat Arun and R Stidhar. They should have directly sacked the support staff instead of being political and resting them. Sent from my Nexus
Chewie
i guess they want to try the new guys before firing the older lot. guess shastri will report to srini mamu on how apt they are for future. hopefully fletcher et al will be fired after this series. msd should be smart & step down from tests. he's hurting himself more than anybody else. his brand image is taking a beating.
